YI IoT YI IoT is the official app to control Yi Technology smart surveillance cameras. It supports only the international camera version, needs an account, and uses subscriptions for cloud recording and playback.

YI IoT is the official app by Yi Technology for setting up, using, and managing your YI IoT surveillance cameras. Please note: the app only works with the international versions of these cameras. If you own a Chinese version, it won’t function properly because those models are managed through a different app.

To use YI IoT, you’ll need a registered user account. Registration is quick, and you can sign up using your Facebook profile. After that, you can personalize your account by updating your name and choosing an avatar. From the app’s options menu, you can also manage items such as your subscription type and the photos/videos you want to save.

Subscription requirement (important): if you want to get the most value from your surveillance camera, you’ll need to choose one of the available subscription plans. Without a subscription, recordings won’t be stored in the cloud, so you won’t be able to access them later—you’ll only be able to watch events in real time. In short: skipping a subscription means losing many of the key benefits of having a camera.

During camera setup, you can also decide what kinds of alerts the app should send you. The most common option triggers notifications as soon as any movement is detected. If you find alerts too frequent, you can lower the sensitivity so the app only notifies you when it senses more noticeable activity. Highly sensitive alerts can be triggered by things like the flutter of a curtain.

Download YI IoT to manage your surveillance cameras with ease. Just remember: it’s compatible with international YI IoT cameras, not Chinese ones.
