KONO Introduction

KONO KONO brings an ad-free e-magazine library to Android and tablets, with Smarticle text mode, dark mode, adjustable fonts, offline + audio reading, and keyword search across magazines.

KONO

KONO

Kono is an e-magazine platform made to upgrade how you read on your phone or tablet. It’s built around a simple, comfortable browsing experience, so you can explore magazines across many interests—ranging from finance and technology to fashion and language learning. You’ll find well-known publications as well as original Japanese titles.

Powered by Smarticle technology, Kono goes beyond standard PDF-style reading. Magazines are presented in a text-based format designed specifically for digital screens, helping the layout fit better on smaller devices. You can also adjust font size, switch to dark mode to reduce eye strain, use a neatly organized table of contents, and search by keywords across multiple magazines to find what you need faster.

With a library of 300+ of the newest magazines, selected in cooperation with well-known publishers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Europe, and America, there’s something for every type of reader—whether you love mainstream titles or want exclusive content.

Convenience features include offline reading, audio read options, an ad-free experience, and multi-device support, so you can keep reading wherever you are.

Kono also offers VIP memberships on a monthly plan for USD $6.49 or an annual plan for USD $64.99. Subscriptions auto-renew to keep your access uninterrupted, letting you enjoy your favorite magazines anytime.

FAQs

What if the account field is blank?

If you choose not to share personal information during registration with a third-party account, Kono won’t have access to your email. If you need to check your account status with Kono, please provide a screenshot from: Kono App > Account > About Kono > Contact Us (bottom-right corner), or submit the issue directly via Contact Us.

Why isn’t my Apple ID email shown when I register with Apple ID?

If you opt not to display your personal email when registering with Apple, Apple generates virtual email addresses automatically. If you need to include your contact email in a letter, use the virtual email instead of your Apple ID email.

Why can’t I find the password change option on the account page?

If your account was created through a third-party login method, you don’t enter a password when signing in—so the password change option won’t appear.

What should I do if I forget my password?

On the login screen, tap Forgot Password to reset it. The system will send a password reset email to your mailbox—then follow the instructions inside the email.

What should I do if the link in the password reset message is invalid?

If you requested multiple password reset emails, use the latest one. Links from older emails expire and become invalid.

I used “Forgot Password,” but it says the account doesn’t exist. What now?

Only the Email Registration account type uses a password. If you registered through a third-party platform, you don’t use a password to sign in—so password reset won’t work.

Can I change my account or email address?

Your email address on Kono is your account identifier, and an established Kono account cannot be changed. If you registered through a third-party platform and don’t have an email address, please refer to [What is my Kono account?].

Can I change my login method?

Because Kono accounts created with different registration/login methods are treated as separate accounts, you can’t switch the login method for an existing account. If you want to use another method, you’ll need to create a new Kono account.

For example, to move from Facebook login to email login, use Email Registration to create a new account.

If your original account already has VIP, see [Can I transfer VIP membership to another account?].
