Arena of Valor Introduction

Arena of Valor Arena of Valor is a fast 5v5 MOBA where you team up, pick from 100+ heroes, farm gold, and time abilities to outplay rivals, push towers, and climb ranked.

Arena of Valor

Arena of Valor is a fast-paced MOBA where two teams of five fight in real time. You’ll pick from hundreds of heroes, coordinate with your allies, and clash on a sprawling battlefield. Success depends on collecting gold quickly, using each hero’s abilities at the right moments, and eliminating opponents to break through lanes—taking down towers and pushing toward victory. As you climb the ranked ladder, you’ll face players from around the world.

The game also includes multiple ways to play, such as matchmaking and awakening-style modes, offering both variety and rewards. Plus, every hero comes with eye-catching skins that you can swap freely—each one brings its own look and can change how skills feel in the field, earning plenty of attention from other players.

Features of Arena of Valor

Arena of Valor

Classic 5v5 MOBA battlefield

You’ll fight across three lanes with jungle areas in between. Your team pushes forward using towers while contesting key objectives. You control a single hero, so your job is to coordinate with teammates using smart positioning and timing to outplay enemy players. The clear lane layout and role structure make it easier for newcomers to understand, while still leaving room for advanced macro decisions.

Quick matchmaking and short matches

Matchmaking is built to start battles quickly. Most matches wrap up in about 15 minutes or less, which fits mobile gaming well—less waiting, more practice. That means you can play more frequently and improve steadily over time.

100+ heroes with distinct roles

Choose from 100+ heroes spread across tank, mage, assassin, marksman, and support roles. Each hero has skills that reward practice, good timing, and proper execution during fights.

There are also collaboration appearances; in some regions you may see special icons (for example, Batman), adding extra variety when you’re building your team composition.

Play with friends and create guilds

You can team up with friends or guild members to coordinate strategies together. When everyone communicates objectives and pacing, lane assignments and team roles become much clearer. Over time, consistent group play helps everyone learn rotations and gain better control of the map.

Ranked ladder and rotating modes

Ranked play includes a ladder system with seasonal tiers, so you can climb and monitor progress as the meta shifts. Outside of ranked, you’ll find modes like Classic 5v5 and seasonal festival events that bring their own exclusive rewards. Depending on your schedule, you can choose intense competition or a more relaxed session.

Useful Tips of Arena of Valor

  • Don’t solo a defensive tower. When you plan to attack a turret, first let your minions get into range so the tower targets them. If you notice your minions are dying too quickly, move out of the tower’s attack range as soon as possible to avoid getting hit.
  • Wild Zone monsters (left side). In the left Wild Zone, there are three monsters: one buff monster and two smaller ones. Defeat them to gain experience and Gold, and to restore a small amount of HP.
  • Arena of Valor

  • Sage Golem (left buff monster). The left buff monster is the Sage Golem. It’s especially recommended for Mages or heroes who deal high damage with their abilities. If your hero burns through mana fast, take these monsters whenever possible and coordinate with teammates. Killing a Sage Golem grants 2% mana regeneration per second and reduces skill cooldowns by at least 20%.
  • Wild Zone monsters (right side). The right Wild Zone also contains three monsters: one buff monster and two smaller ones. Clearing them rewards you with experience, Gold, and a small HP recovery.
  • Might Golem (right buff monster). The right buff monster is the Might Golem. It’s best for Archers, Warriors, or Assassins. Defeating it causes your basic attacks to slow enemies and apply a sustained damage effect. (Some Archer heroes can punish less flexible targets early by kiting, using movement speed reductions to keep pressure on—very effectively.)
  • Timing your Garnak fight. Taking down Garnak early is difficult. One hero usually can’t remove it alone, but teamwork can bring it down. Still, it’s usually smarter to secure Garnak after you’ve already gained the advantage—this prevents the enemy team from stealing it. If the opponent grabs Garnak first, your team is likely to be pushed back and defeated.
  • Recovery skills can be interrupted. If you take damage, recovery skills will be interrupted. It’s best to return to the safe zone before using them. If you stay grouped while recovering and enemy soldiers start attacking, you’ll waste the opportunity to regain HP.

Hero Types of Arena of Valor

Marksman

Arena of Valor

Marksmen are also commonly called AD Carry/ADC. These are ranged heroes that deal mostly physical damage, typically through their basic attacks. They excel at consistent (sustained) damage and are especially useful in teamfights to chip away at enemy health. They’re also strong at taking objectives like turrets. That said, marksmen are usually fragile, so they can be vulnerable in close fights.

Examples: Violet, Valhein, Yorn.

Mage

Arena of Valor

Mages are sometimes referred to as AP Carry/APC. (Content continues beyond this point in the original page.)
