Highlights

The Inn

  • Story-driven Visual Novel: The game follows the life of a character named Mike, created using Ren’Py, a well-known engine for visual novels.
  • Comedic Slice of Life: Expect humor built around everyday situations, including playful jabs at familiar visual novel clichés and stereotypes.
  • Customizable Protagonist: You can name the main character to match your preference, making the story feel more personal.
  • Misfortunes and Challenges: Mike’s past includes setbacks and bad luck. As the story progresses, you’ll see how he deals with these troubles—and whether things start improving or getting worse.
  • A Fresh Visual Novel Take: By satirizing common tropes and conventions, The Inn stands out from typical visual novel entries and aims to keep things entertaining.

The Inn

  • “Pretty funny game…” It’s full of jokes, memes, and moments that genuinely made me smile and laugh. I was also surprised by how well it immerses you in the story and the characters’ relationships. The animations look solid, the comedy feels clear and enjoyable, and the story/dialogues are good. After going through what’s available right now, I’d happily rate the author’s work and creativity—this is one of the adult games that made it into my favorites, and it even inspired me to think about hobbies like translating games into Russian.
  • “Perfect in every aspect…” Graphics: full marks. Music: full marks. Story: full marks—everything feels top-tier. This game really hits emotionally—what’s there to complain about? That said, I’m a bit concerned because it’s been getting updates since 2018, which means it’s already been about six years. I’m not upset about the pace or the amount of content, but you know what I mean: the inn hasn’t even officially opened yet. I’ve seen too many creators start strong with great dedication, but as time passes, pressure builds and many projects eventually get labeled “abandoned.”
  • “Just found it…” I only recently discovered this game, and I can see why it might not have been as strong early on. (VN mode content continues, but the comment is cut off.)
