The Wolf Among Us Introduction
The Wolf Among Us Step into a noir fairy-tale mystery as Bigby Wolf. Investigate murders, gather clues, and shape outcomes through dialogue choices across five chapters with branching endings.
The Wolf Among Us

The Wolf Among Us is an adventure game inspired by the comic series Fables. You play as Bigby Wolf, pulled into a chain of murders and tangled political schemes. Your job is to investigate crime scenes, spot hidden details, and make meaningful decisions during conversations—either to obtain useful testimony or to expose contradictions in what suspects claim. As the story unfolds, you piece together the truth and identify the person orchestrating everything.
The game is organized into five chapters. Each chapter introduces new characters and fresh story developments, along with different endings, so your choices can significantly change how events play out and keep each run feeling new.

How to Play
The Wolf Among Us is a graphic adventure that uses a third-person viewpoint. You control Bigby Wolf as he investigates a set of mysterious killings.

During exploration, you’ll roam through multiple 3D locations, including places like apartment buildings and a bar. When you enter an area, you may find objects you can interact with. To examine them, hover your cursor over the item to select it.
Useful objects are placed into an inventory, where you can pick them up and use them later as the story requires.
You can also speak with non-player characters. Conversations appear as dialogue trees, and the option you choose can improve or damage how other characters see Bigby—affecting future scenes and outcomes.

Some moments shift into action sequences that require quick responses via QTEs (quick-time events). You are not forced to complete every QTE prompt; however, skipping prompts can change later events.

Key Features
Wolf-Story
This game tells the tale of a wolf caught in the middle of an investigation in Fabletown. A wide community of fairy-tale figures lives there, but the real murderer is hidden among them. As you move through the case, you’ll uncover clues while the truth remains carefully concealed.
The game follows a story mode structure with five episodes. Each episode presents a distinct case you must solve to bring justice.
Impressive Graphics and Characters
The visuals are stylish and attention-grabbing, often giving an anime-like vibe as you step into the darker side of the world. You’ll see worn-down buildings, eerie creatures, and unsettling old furnishings.
If you’ve read the source material, you’ll recognize many characters. Still, the cast includes a mix of creatures, victims, suspects, and key players tied to the ongoing mystery.
Weapons and Combat Threats
As you investigate, you’ll encounter criminals carrying dangerous weapons. Some are armed with loaded guns and can fire extremely fast—sometimes within a second.
That said, you have special strengths that can help you overcome these threats when confrontations arise.
Make Choices That Matter
Story events and plot direction are shaped by the Eisner-famous Fables comic universe. Your role as a central character means your decisions can change the story entirely. You’ll be placed into key situations where your choices are the determining factor.
Walkthrough Example
You start as Sheriff Bigby, responding to a call about noise coming from a residential building. After talking with Mr. Toad, you head upstairs and find Woodsman attacking Faith. You intervene to stop them, only to learn Woodsman is searching for blood.
Once you handle the situation, you speak with Faith. This is where your first decision begins—Faith is short on money.
Choice 1: Did you give Faith your money?
This choice affects the direction of the story. In this example, you decide to give the money to Faith.
After that, you reach the Woodlands. Just before entering, you notice someone hiding near a tree. When you confront them, you find Beauty. It seems suspicious for her to be out so late, and she asks you to keep the meeting secret—especially from Beast. She promises to explain everything later.
As you enter the Woodlands, you discover Beast searching for Belle, and you must make another choice.
Choice 2: Did you tell Beast the truth about Beauty?
This is a tough dilemma, because staying loyal to both sides can’t happen without hurting one of them. A safer approach in this scenario is to stay out of it.
Choice 3: Where did you decide to go first?
Many players go to Toad’s apartment first, since he sounds like a mess on the phone and it feels safer to check on him. However, choosing Lawrence’s apartment can lead to better results—because if you delay, the consequences can be severe, including Lawrence being killed.
Choice 4: What happened to Prince Lawrence?
To help save Lawrence when you arrive, make sure you tell him that Faith is missing, or provide a partial truth (not that she is dead). If you choose the half-truth option, Lawrence may react aggressively—such as pointing his gun at Dee.
