Helpful Tips

• Strong defenses help prevent easy destruction, but other armies may still be powerful enough to wipe out your village. Just remember: tougher defenses can also mean fewer attackers strong enough to break through around your current morale level.
• Don’t ignore your castle level. If you only strengthen defense without upgrading your castle, you’ll be attacking other villages with armies made up of weaker units. If you’re not achieving about 70% destruction of enemy villages, your army may be underpowered—upgrade your castle and army levels.
• Walls are useful because they slow enemy forces. However, strong towers can be even more important since they may eliminate troops even without walls being a factor. A balanced mix of wall strength and tower power gives you the best results.



• Leveling defense alone can limit tower options. When you increase defense without raising your castle level, you may not be able to build as many towers. Higher castle levels unlock additional tower types, and some towers are unavailable until you reach specific castle milestones.
• Understand the shield timer after your town is hit: once your town is destroyed enough, you receive a 12-hour shield. Your first attack reduces it by 3 hours, the second reduces it by 4 hours, and the third reduces it by 6 hours. In practice, this gives you about three shield-protected attacks. Use those attacks well to earn larger reward bonuses and rebuild your bounty.
• Fast castle upgrades can weaken village defenses. For example, towers might sit in the 13–14 range while walls could be around 11–17, with most falling at 11–12. A common goal is upgrading the 11 and 12 walls up to 13.
• Higher levels cost more for both walls and towers. That’s why having a stronger, larger army to defeat enemy towns quickly and completely helps you grow resources faster and with less effort.
