Journey of Monarch is an idle-style role-playing game where you can freely pick from a wide roster of heroes to assemble a powerful team. Then, you’ll push into dungeons with different difficulty levels. Place your heroes strategically, trigger their skills to wipe out enemies, and collect rare materials along with rewarding loot.

The game also includes a variety of mini-games and a PVP arena. In the mini-games, you can sharpen your gameplay skills while earning different rewards—helping you strengthen your favorite characters. When you’re ready, jump into the arena to compete against players worldwide.

Gameplay overview

Monarch

The Monarch is the main character you choose. This character comes with exclusive skills, which are organized into five types:

• Normal Attack
• Critical Attack
• Active Skill
• Passive Skill
• Aura Skill

You can equip one skill from each type. Skills can be obtained through command skill short-kills. If you acquire the same skill multiple times, you can promote/upgrade it.

Compared with a hero or a magic doll, the Monarch has more stats available for growth. Along with Aura Mastery, you may also see additional systems such as Blood Pact and Insignia. Depending on what you need, you may also have to complete entries in the encyclopedia and upgrade your specifications.

Heroes and magic dolls

Heroes are recruited through summoning and join the battle alongside your Monarch. They’re grouped into class roles such as defensive, short-range, distant, and magic types.

You can level up heroes via leveling, upgrading, and elixir strengthening.

Magic dolls are companion units that assist both Monarchs and heroes. Fortunately, magic dolls do not use elixir strengthening.

Enchantment

Enchantment strengthens your equipment and can push it to higher levels. You can attempt upgrades using a strengthening magic spell book.

Each enchantment attempt also involves enchantment protection for the item. When an enchantment succeeds, your enhancement level rises. When it fails, the game consumes protection counts. If you fail repeatedly and all protection tries are used up, the item will become a damaged state.

Dice progression

One of the biggest highlights of Journey of Monarch is its dice-based progression. By rolling the dice, you can obtain equipment and costumes. The more you roll, the higher the value of the rewards you can receive.

Dice rolls also let you progress through a mode called “Tower of Arrogance”. True to its name, this content is built around themes of greed and foolishness.

In the Tower of Arrogance, you’ll fight bosses on each floor to claim one of four reward types. If you roll and their total is higher than the required set number, you can defeat the boss, move to the next floor, and earn a major reward.

As you climb, the required number increases—yet the rewards grow just as dramatically. If the two dice land on the same value, it’s considered a “great success”, allowing you to advance with .

Strategy tips

• Summon heroes often and choose the best for each role:

  The game features 90 heroes across all roles. Aim to recruit top-tier heroes to clear stages more easily. Use every chance to summon, including 30x Summons for better odds. Duplicates aren’t a problem—duplicate heroes can be upgraded later.

• Expect difficulty to spike as you progress:

  Early stages start with monsters and bosses that are easier, but difficulty rises rapidly later. Stronger bosses can overwhelm your team quickly—sometimes defeating heroes in two or three hits if your heroes are underpowered.

• Upgrade your main five heroes regularly:

  Make leveling and upgrades part of your routine so your core team stays competitive as enemy strength increases.
