Performance and Gameplay Mechanics

This role-playing dungeon game uses multiple progression systems. You mostly gain experience by defeating skeletons. After each level up, you choose 2 upgrades out of 4 random options. Some of the options are special abilities (up to 4) with powerful effects—for instance, turning all gold into swords or spawning a fresh chessboard via teleportation. After using one of these abilities, it goes on cooldown for X turns.

When you stand on shield tiles while your armor is full, you build the armor experience bar, letting you pick one of four equipment upgrade options. Equipment upgrades can also be triggered once the gold “experience” bar is filled.

Your class, race, and skills come from a randomly selected skill pool and grant corresponding bonuses or debuffs.
