Chess Free Introduction
Chess Free Chess Free is a mobile chess strategy game with offline play against AI (12 difficulty levels), optional Tutor/Danger help, and local same-device multiplayer for quick head-to-head matches.
Chess Free
Chess Free is a handy chess app for mobile players. It includes twelve difficulty levels so you can play against the computer at a pace that fits your skill. You can also jump into online-style matches without using the internet, facing computer opponents across multiple strengths.

Lower difficulty settings are fairly approachable, but as the level rises, winning becomes much tougher. You can also play locally on the same phone: just pass the device to your opponent on each turn.
Gameplay
The app provides a dedicated “How to Play” section with both beginner-friendly and advanced tutorials. Many of the guides include images to help you understand how chess works.
Besides single-player, Chess Free offers a single-player mode with customizable match settings, including:
- CPU difficulty
- Move timer
- Game timer
- Additional match options
Casual vs Pro (Single Player)
You can choose between Casual and Pro modes:
- Pro mode does not include Tutor or Show Danger tools.
- Casual mode allows Tutor and three Show Danger options.
Tutor suggests a piece to move, which can help you avoid careless blunders. The Show Danger options highlight unsafe moves or point out pieces that are at risk of capture by your opponent.
Tip: While Tutor and Show Danger can be useful, try not to rely on them as a shortcut to victory. If you want more challenge, consider:

- Online multiplayer (requires a Google account)
- Local multiplayer on the same device

Note: when you sign in with your Google account, the app may sometimes get stuck on “Please Wait.”
