Revisit the Grand Story and Challenge the Primals

Pick Your Race and Swap Jobs in One Tap

Fishing, Triple Triad, and Chocobo Racing
Adventuring isn’t the only thing you can do. When you want a break from intense battles, you can visit the Gold Saucer for chocobo racing and the card game Triple Triad. You can also build out a comfortable home, join seasonal festive events, and customize your style with outfits and glamours for your Warrior of Light.
The first mobile release introduces 11 crafting and gathering classes, giving you a different rhythm of life in Eorzea—whether you want to cast a line as a skilled fisher, head into the depths as a miner, master alchemy, and more.
Strategies for Final Fantasy XIV Mobile
Use Your Hunting Log
Every adventurer in Final Fantasy XIV has a Hunting Log. It outlines a list of enemies you can hunt for XP, along with their general areas. It won’t always spell out the exact spots, but that’s part of the thrill of tracking beasts down.
Completing the Hunting Log also matters for progression—some tiers must be finished before you can move forward in the game’s story.
Log Out at Sanctuaries and Inns

Final Fantasy XIV uses a rested XP system that grants bonus experience while you’re away. To trigger it, you need to log out in a sanctuary at an inn. After logging out in either of these locations, you’ll receive a 50% XP bonus for kills when you return.
- Inns are available in each of Eorzea’s capital cities.
- Sanctuaries act as main quest hubs for each zone.
Know When Your Spiritbound Gear Is Ready
Equipment in Final Fantasy XIV eventually becomes spiritbound to you as you wear it during combat. You can track an item’s progress by checking its tooltip. Once it reaches 100%, the gear can be converted into Materia.
Materia can then be used to enhance stats on equipped items—so the spiritbound system is a great way to help craft truly powerful battle gear.
Make Sure You Contribute Damage
In many MMOs, it’s frustrating when stronger players eliminate enemies before you can tag them. This is often called mob stealing. In FFXIV, the game accounts for this—players can still earn XP and quest credit by assisting, but you should make sure you deal damage before the enemy is fully defeated.
To receive the rewards, aim to land at least 30% of the damage on the target.
Player Impressions
“This game defined my life for a long, long time. I honestly haven’t played in a while, but assuming it stays unchanged…”
