Metal Slug: Awakening is a fast-paced action game that brings the series into a fresh style. Instead of sticking to classic 2D pixel visuals, it uses 3D models and pairs them with a strong, energetic soundtrack. The result is combat that feels exciting and keeps you engaged as you push through every mission.

Pick the character you like most and jump into a lineup of familiar arcade stages. With plenty of game modes, you’ll stay immersed right from the start. As you progress, you can also uncover hidden puzzles, surprises, and extra discoveries tucked into the levels.

Gameplay

Metal Slug: Awakening substantially expands the action. Expect a large weapon arsenal, bigger and more varied maps, different mission types, and new military vehicles that make each encounter feel bigger than the last. On top of the classic run-and-fight formula, the game adds fresh modes to keep gameplay from getting repetitive.

Modes include:

• World Exploration for a more exploratory approach
• Team 3 Co-op for cooperative battles
• Roguelike mode with unpredictable challenges

The game also supports different playstyles. You can team up with friends to take down tough bosses and bring a co-op twist to the Metal Slug experience. Character transformations return too, along with distinctive vehicles—such as powerful fire-breathing camels—and a range of special guns that open up more strategy options for how you tackle each threat.

Expect plenty of detail as well. Hidden surprises, secret items, and unexpected animation moments add a sense of discovery while you advance. It nods to the arcade roots, while still feeling modern and lively for today’s players. Newcomers, however, may initially find the controls and game mechanics a bit tricky—especially if you haven’t played this style of action before.

New Story: Strike in Space

After the Ice Danger Crisis, the Regular Army begins an operation to eliminate the Konsar invasion threat. At the same time, the Concerians—who lost their alliance with the Modern Army—have taken Marshal Modern hostage.

During their retreat, they attacked Andrew Town and triggered its underground propulsion system. Now, the entire town has transformed into a massive spacecraft blasting toward space!

Chasing the Concerians should have been straightforward, but a woman named Martina brings troubling news: the underground project was never finished. Andrew Town will lose power once it reaches a certain altitude—and then it will vanish into the cosmos…

New Hero: Martina

Martina was raised in one of Italy’s toughest slums. A painful childhood taught her early how cruel the world can be, pushing her to mature mentally far faster than others her age.

After losing her beloved sister, Martina had nothing left but to wander. Her grief and guilt trapped her in a deep cycle of suffering. She often hears her sister’s voice in her mind, convinced her sister’s soul never truly left. Over time, this obsession makes Martina highly emotional—and under specific conditions, it can even lead to a split personality.

To honor a promise she made to her sister, Martina joins Marco and the Regular Army on their space offensive. She helps stop the Concerians Expeditionary Force’s plans and plays a key role in protecting Earth.

New Weapon: Dual-Wielding SMG

The first dual-wield weapon is here! Inspired by the classic SMG design, it uses mechanisms drawn from the Repeating Ballista System. Once activated, the twin barrels auto-rotate and fire, releasing a barrage of armor-piercing rounds that sweep the battlefield in every direction.

New Gameplay: Abyssal Cruise

Set sail for space in Abyssal Cruise! Commanders explore the cosmic seas aboard the newest battleship, Lattice, traveling alongside companions from Andrew Town.

Fight through special combat challenges shaped by cosmic rays and shifting gravitational fields. To the stars—total assault!

Join the interstellar journey and earn rewards such as Mythic Weapon Fragments, Hero Tokens, Mimetic Metal, Alloy Picks, and more.

Tips and Tricks

Movement

• Use the on-screen navigation buttons to move through stages.
• You can move left and right, jump, and crouch (sit).

Shooting

• Tap the shooting button to attack enemies.
• Adjust your firing direction and keep shooting continuously to wipe out monsters and sea monsters.

Weapons

• Weapons range from pistols and machine guns to rocket launchers.



• Pick up weapons from in-game boxes to strengthen your attack power.

Supercars

• Use powerful supercars—such as tanks and planes—to deal heavier damage to enemies.
