Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 (PSP)

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 PSP is an action fighting game that delivers an anime-style experience through visuals and gameplay. Drawing on the well-known story of the series, it lets you play through scenes that feel closely tied to the show’s progression. You can step into the role of your favorite character, select a story-based campaign, and jump into a variety of memorable encounters. There’s also a versus mode, where you can unleash different techniques and combos to take down a wide range of opponents.
Gameplay
The game is presented as a PSP simulation-style adventure with fighting. Follow Naruto’s path through mission mode for an action-packed journey, or switch to free mode and jump into battles whenever you want.
Much of the experience is tightly connected to the animation content—progress is closely aligned with the anime and the gameplay is driven by scripted sequences. You’ll encounter many playable characters, including Konoha’s allies such as Sand Shinobi, Otonin, Akatsuki, and Snake Pie. Each fighter brings their own ninjutsu and combat style.
Mission Structure & Camera Styles
- Close-camera fights: In some battles, the camera sits near your character, and you’re expected to defeat one or two opponents like a traditional fighter.
- Wider, side-scrolling feel: Other segments pull the camera back, giving the action a side-scrolling platformer look.
- Objective-based progress: Certain missions require you to defeat a set number of enemies to move forward.
- Time-limited goals: Other missions challenge you to reach the end within a specified time limit.

Depending on the mission format and objectives, the fights can end up feeling repetitive, with basic controls and shallow action that make many encounters less engaging than they could be. Combat often leans heavily toward button mashing. While there are a number of moves available, the game doesn’t do much to properly explain your attacks or help you learn them.
Key Benefits

Immersive Storytelling
During missions, you’ll meet a variety of characters who share information about Naruto’s past and key moments. The story integration is also a way to honor the main plot fans already know. If you’ve watched the anime, you may find details you missed before—sometimes it even serves as motivation to revisit the movie.
Exploration of Hidden Leaf Village
Between battles, you can roam around Hidden Leaf Village, revisiting places you recognize and discovering viewpoints you may not remember from the films.
Large Cast Options
You can play as 25 main characters. In addition, up to 10 support characters can be included to add extra variety and complexity to battles.

Controls & Ninjutsu Presentation
Naruto’s standout feature is its highly complex ninjutsu system, paired with cool hand-gesture animations. With only a few simple inputs, these techniques appear directly on your screen—making the combat feel energetic and satisfying.
