Uma Musume Pretty Derby is a sports-themed training simulation built around an anime-style story. Your focus is raising and training the Uma Musume girls. The end goal is to make your team champions. To get there, you’ll want to recruit characters with higher rarity, then develop them through structured practice and competitive training sessions to build the stats they’ll need.

Once training is complete, you can enter races. Each event allows up to 18 competitors, and races feature a range of styles and themes. The setup is reminiscent of real horse racing—such as Dirt vs Turf—plus different running roles like front-runner, mid-runner, and closer. To win, you’ll need to select a character whose stats and strengths match the race conditions. If you come out on top, an Idol stage may appear afterward—so aim for first!
