Game Modes

1 vs 1 (Solo)

In this mode, you and one opponent battle on a unique bridge using your selected character. It’s designed to help players refine personal mechanics and decision-making since you only have one rival to account for.

The map is laid out in a straight line with two side pillars and one central pillar. The goal is to pressure the enemy’s restricted area, then break the main turret. If you want to focus on improving your individual playstyle, this is a great place to start.

3 vs 3

Fight in a more open layout on the Green Highlands with you and two teammates versus your opponents. In the updated version, you’ll typically destroy one main pillar and one secondary pillar.

There are also special objectives and elements such as the two-headed Dragon and the blue charm. Securing kills can increase damage, experience, and gold—while also helping teammates by preventing mana loss. To win, don’t spend every moment chasing fights. Stick with your team to gather items, clear monsters, and strengthen your power before key pushes.

5 vs 5

This is widely considered the most complete mode in Arena of Valor. Each team brings 5 members, and you’ll want to divide roles and support each other.

There are three main lanes, and teams need to reinforce turret defenses while working together to combine pressure and create opportunities. You may also recognize hero names such as Evil God Caesar, Dark Dragon Kraydus, Bat Guardian, Giant Wizard, and Giant athlete.

Because it’s broad enough to support both basic and advanced strategies, 5-player matches reward careful planning. Even near the end—especially in the final minute—you can still swing the outcome, so stay focused until the match is over.

Choose Your Fighter

Arena of Valor is a MOBA where mythic characters and heroes face off in intense team battles. To grow stronger each match, you defeat non-player creatures to level up. You’ll also need to outplay other players and destroy their turrets to gain XP and increase your character’s power.
