Vita3K Introduction
Vita3K Vita3K is an open-source PlayStation Vita game emulator for Android, helping you replay classic titles with optimized visuals, smoother performance, easy game import (VPK/ZIP/PKG), and controller or on-screen controls.
Vita3K
Vita3K is an open-source emulator made for bringing classic PlayStation Vita games back to life on mobile. It focuses on better graphics output, smoother gameplay, and improved rendering so older titles feel closer to what you remember. Setup is straightforward: install the required console firmware and font files, bring in your game data, and you’re ready to play. Some supported games even include online features for matchmaking, so you can revisit those multiplayer memories too. For a smoother experience on the go, Vita3K also supports gamepad controls, including the ability to adjust the on-screen button layout.
Key Features
Initial Setup & Game Installation
When you launch Vita3K for the first time, the app will ask you to install the console firmware and fonts to ensure the visuals display correctly. After that, you can add your own copies of games using common package formats such as VPK, ZIP, or PKG. Once imported, your titles appear in the interface for quick launching.
Control Options
Vita3K supports virtual on-screen controls for handheld play. If you’d rather use physical input, you can connect a compatible controller via USB or Bluetooth. Note that button prompts and how the controls feel can differ from game to game—when needed, you can switch between input methods.
Online Play (For Supported Games)
Some PS Vita games that include online functionality can connect through the Internet. If a title supports it, you may be able to join other players. Exact availability depends on how each game implements networking, and results can vary.
Compatibility & Performance Notes
- Vita3K is open source and supports a wide variety of games, but not every title will start or get past menus.
- A compatibility list is provided on the project’s official site.
- Emulation can be demanding. Performance depends on your device, and midrange or older phones/tablets may see slowdowns.

FAQs
Can I play multiplayer online with real consoles or other Vita3K users?
To play commercial Vita games online on real PlayStation Vita systems, you’d need to sign in via PlayStation Network, which is generally impractical because of technical and legal constraints. However, networking is partially implemented, and some homebrew multiplayer games—such as vitaQuake—can work well.
Where do I download firmware files?
Use Help -> Welcome -> Download Firmware. This decrypts the modules only. If you also need the full firmware package (including fonts), choose Help -> Welcome -> Download Firmware Font Package.
How can I track progress?
Check the Blog or the project’s social media. For more advanced updates, visit the GitHub page (Pull Requests) and the Discord server—see the #development channel.
Why are you working on Game X instead of Game Y?

Vita3K is a hobby-driven project. Developers focus on what they want to work on, when they decide to. Bug reports and issue reports are always welcome.
I want to create a patch, contribute, or become a developer—where should I start?
That’s great—contributions are welcome. Start by reviewing the Coding Style Guidelines and Developer Information. Most development discussion happens on Discord, so join the server and visit the #development channel. Pick something to improve (for example: broken games, bugs, missing features, or roadmap goals), implement your changes, test them, and submit a Pull Request. You can also help by participating in testing.
