Key Features

Live flight map and flight details

Flightradar24 Flight Tracker

Flightradar24 shows aircraft in real time on a detailed map. Tap any plane to open information including the route, estimated arrival time, departure time, aircraft type, speed, altitude, and high-resolution photos. This gives you a quick picture of where a flight is right now—and where it’s headed.

AR Plane Finder and 3D cockpit view

You can use AR Plane Finder to point your device at the sky and identify nearby flights. After that, switch to the 3D view to see what pilots see from a cockpit-style perspective, including the airline livery details. These visual tools help connect what’s in the sky with what you see on screen.

Airport status and insights

The app provides an organized view of activity at thousands of airports, including arrivals, departures, current flight status, and aircraft on the ground. You can also check current delays and live weather for a specific airport—useful when conditions are busy and you want to monitor changes quickly.

Gold also includes aeronautical charts and oceanic tracks, which illustrate common flight pathways. You can additionally view air traffic control (ATC) boundaries, showing the regions managed by different controllers—adding more context to how airspace is organized.

User Reviews

  • “I started with this app for the Skycard game (also by Flightradar24) to see where different planes were, but now I use it whenever I’m bored—it’s genuinely fascinating. It’s especially fun when my family and friends are traveling, because you can track whether planes are consistently late, on time, or early. I’d recommend the free version, but I ended up getting Gold for $40/year.”

  • “I like it because you can show which runways are used for takeoff and landing at every airport in real time, and you can show selected aircraft’s routes and waypoints. One thing to consider: earlier updates showed altitude changing continuously, and speed changes when V/S moves by 500 ft/min or more. But it now updates after it rises or drops by about 150–200 feet. Also, it sometimes doesn’t show the aircraft’s actual time, including departure and arrival airports.”

  • “My son introduced me to flight radar. I used to live less…”
