Zenly Introduction
Zenly Zenly is a social app for Android that lets you share real-time locations, track movement paths and speed, and explore new spots with map discoveries, leaderboards, and friend highlights.
Zenly
Zenly is a social app built for connecting with people worldwide. It lets you see your friends’ real-time locations, along with their movement trails and travel speeds, so you can get a better sense of what they’re up to. You can also broadcast your own routes and highlight-worthy moments as you explore new places—then compete with others on the leaderboard.
To make staying connected effortless, Zenly includes a search tool. By typing a friend’s name (or a location they visit often), you can quickly find where they are and get navigation directions.
Key Features
- View friends’ live location—whether they’re at home, work, or school.
- Check their current speed when they’re moving, or see how long they’ve been parked at a spot (like a coffee shop).
- Know if someone’s battery is running low or if they’re currently charging for later.
Live Map & Discovery
- See the world as a live map: where friends are, who’s out, and what places you’ve visited.
- Share your real-time location without excessive battery drain.
- When you go somewhere new, Zenly helps “uncover” it on your map, like building your own personal discovery trail.

Chat & Expression
- Bring personality to your 1:1 chats and group conversations.
- Send voice notes with automatic transcription.
- Express yourself using secret emoji combinations and adjustable text sizing.
- Send a quick “what’s up” message to a friend to share a photo or video of what’s happening right now (a real-time vibe check before you head out).
Places, Leaderboards, and Highlights
- Zenly can detect where you are, so you can add places and personalize your map.
- Each time you visit a location, you can climb the public leaderboard.
- Tag friends who were with you and get notifications when your group hangs out somewhere new.
- View friends’ highlights to see what they did over the past 24 hours.
Public Profiles (“Your World”)
- Share your activity on your public profile so others can see who you are based on the places you spend time.
- Explore other people’s “worlds” to discover where they go and what they’ve uncovered.
Why Zenly Stands Out
- Messaging + location: Zenly combines communication with a locator-style experience, making it a hub for both chatting and staying aware of where people are.
- Battery visibility: Seeing someone’s battery status helps set expectations—if their charge is low, they may be harder to reach.
- Privacy controls: You choose what others can see, including options to temporarily hide your location or use Ghost Mode to appear somewhere else.
- Efficient performance: Optimized updates aim to keep location tracking accurate while avoiding unnecessary battery use. Regular updates also improve precision and security.
- Community extras: Travel history and “over time” insights encourage safer sharing within trusted circles, supported by a follower system.

FAQs
How to Check In?
- Tap the add button in the bottom-right of the map screen.
- Select who you’re with. Zenly can automatically pick nearby friends. If someone forgot their phone, tap a friend’s name manually. If nobody is selected, use “Tag Friends” to add them.
- Confirm the detected place is correct. If not, tap the place name to choose another option. If the place isn’t listed, scroll to the end and choose “Create a New Spot”.
- Tap “I’m here” to add the place to your map so your friends know where you are and who you’re with.
What Happens When You Check In to a Place?
- When you check in, your friends receive a notification letting them know you’re there—so they can come meet you or ask what’s worth trying next.
- If they miss the notification, it’s still okay: each check-in creates a highlight for friends to view.
- Highlights last 24 hours and are only available in Zenly for that time window.
- You can view highlights from the main map (Zenly curates the most interesting highlights from across your friends) or from a friend’s pin timeline (showing their highlights from the last 24 hours).
- Checking in also makes your map more personal: the place gets added to your map, and you can later get directions with a tap using Go Mode. You can also track your progress on that place’s public leaderboard.
- Finally, checking in adds the location to Your World on your public profile—so others can see where you spend time in real life.
