• I installed this on a new iMac and hit an unzip error near the end, which I suspect came from add-ons. I’ll confirm with them later. In the meantime, the results are instant—no waiting like on older platforms. I also like that it isn’t Adobe, and it doesn’t constantly chew up bandwidth on my non-fiber T-Mobile internet and Wi‑Fi (background activity slows everyone down on local networks). I’m excited to edit photos from my Nikon Z50 with multiple lenses, my iPhone, older camera images, and even film. Nice program!

• I switched from LR Mobile to Luminar Neo’s desktop version subscription. It works great, and I love how easy it is to use. I finally figured out how to download presets. The only issue I’ve run into is freezing: when the app locks up, it doesn’t save the edits I was making, so I end up re-editing the same photo repeatedly, which gets really frustrating.

  

• I tried it as an alternative to Lightroom, but the problems started even before I opened it. On the first screen where you select a plan, the Continue button was hidden behind the main macOS toolbar, so I couldn’t move forward by default. The layout also didn’t fit properly on screen, making it hard to use comfortably. Overall it feels unfinished. That said, I liked that most Lightroom hotkeys worked the same, and the workflow felt familiar.

Can I start editing on one device and finish on another?

Yes. Cross-device editing is available with the Perpetual Cross-Device License and Perpetual Max License. You can begin on your mobile phone and continue exactly where you left off on your desktop or tablet. At the moment, it works one way (mobile → desktop). The reverse direction (desktop → mobile) is planned for a future update.

How many devices can I use Luminar Neo on?

You can install and use Luminar Neo on 2 devices using either the lifetime plan or the subscription plan. With two seats, you can activate Luminar Neo on two devices at the same time, regardless of operating system—for example, one Mac and one Windows PC.
