Vanced Manager

Vanced Manager is a well-known Android app that gives you greater control over your YouTube experience. It includes powerful tools for customization and extra playback options. With Vanced Manager, you can remove annoying advertisements for a smoother, uninterrupted video experience.

You can also turn on picture-in-picture (PiP) so you can keep working or browsing while a video plays in a small window. In addition, the app lets you unlock higher YouTube resolutions, letting you select the quality you want—even when it goes beyond what your device screen normally supports.

Note: Vanced Manager doesn’t support downloading YouTube videos.

Features

• Ad Blocking

  Watch without advertisements. The app is designed to block multiple ad types, including in-video ads, ads shown in search results, and ads on the watch page. Work is still in progress for blocking home-screen ads.

• Background Playback

  Keep audio playing even after you turn off the screen. This is great for listening to music or podcasts while using other apps, or after locking your phone.

  

• PiP (Picture-in-Picture)

  Supports picture-in-picture mode, similar to what’s available for YouTube Premium users. It helps you multitask while videos continue playing. To use this feature, you need Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher.

• Swipe Controls

  Adjust volume and brightness with simple swipes on the screen—just like many other video players.

• Preferred Resolution and Playback Speed

  Choose your preferred video resolution and the app will play videos using that pixel quality regardless of your current bandwidth. The same idea applies to playback speed. You can also set different options for Wi‑Fi and mobile data.

• Themes

  Available themes include Dark + White and Black + White in the latest version. If enough users request it, older theme variants like Pink and Blue may return soon.

• Force VP9 Codec

  By forcing the VP9 codec, the app aims to improve video quality and help you get the best possible playback.

• SponsorBlock

  SponsorBlock can automatically skip promotional segments, intros, outros, and reminders—saving you time by reducing unnecessary content.

Conclusion

The only major limitation is that Vanced Manager doesn’t allow downloading videos from YouTube. Otherwise, if you want ad-free viewing plus extra features, Vanced Manager is a strong option.
