FAQs

Instagram/TikTok/YouTube/etc. isn’t being blocked on iOS for Deep Focus Mode. Why?

We’re investigating, but this can happen when your device has App Limits enabled. If you bypass an App Limit by tapping “Ignore for Today”, your Apple device may let that app bypass your screen limits for the rest of the day, and it won’t resume until the next day.

The only real workaround is to not tap “Ignore for Today” and instead follow your preset limits.

How do I earn scarves?

Scarves are earned by being a Focus Friend Pro subscriber/member. You receive scarves whenever you complete a focus session.

How do I change my Bean’s skin?

On the main screen, tap Edit Bean (the pencil-on-a-bean icon). From there, you can choose the skin your Bean will wear.

Deep Focus Mode’s Allow List isn’t working on iOS. What’s wrong?

We’re working on fixing it. If you also have another app installed that uses Screen Time and blocks apps (examples include Opal and Forest), Apple may not be able to run both blocking systems at the same time.

In the meantime, go to Settings > Screen Time and disable the other apps.

Can you add more rooms?

Why does Deep Focus Mode on iOS keep apps shut off too long?

This is fixed in a newer version. Please update to the latest version of the app.

Can the music play when the app is closed?

Yes. In Focus Friend Settings, go to the Sound section and turn on “Play Music When App is Closed”.
