AutoCAD Introduction

AutoCAD AutoCAD brings professional CAD drafting to Android. Sync your account, create and edit drawings, and use a clean interface designed for fast tool access—best for accurate 2D blueprints.

AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a professional computer-aided design (CAD) tool. It brings many of the desktop-grade capabilities of CAD to Android, so you can sync your AutoCAD account from your computer and start creating drawings on your phone or tablet.

Use AutoCAD across all your Android devices, then bring your ideas to life with flexible drawing and editing tools. The app also includes powerful options for convenient project work—so you can edit and refine your designs without extra hassle. Tap to download and create your own masterworks.

About

If you want a CAD app that supports 2D and 3D creation, AutoCAD is worth considering. That said, if your main goal is building highly complex 3D models, you might find it less satisfying.

In practice, AutoCAD performs best when you’re working on detailed, accurate 2D drawings. While 3D modeling is possible, its limitations become obvious fairly quickly, and in some cases that can feel frustrating.

It simply isn’t designed to be a dedicated 3D modeling studio. Instead, its strengths show up most clearly in 2D design work and blueprints.

Even though CAD software can feel complex overall, AutoCAD offers an easy-to-navigate interface. Large icons and a clean layout help you find tools faster, and more experienced users (or power experimenters) can use macros to create shortcuts and speed up access to frequently used commands.

Why 2D feels smooth

For 2D drafting, AutoCAD helps you create detailed designs with strong accuracy—without needing traditional drawing instruments. It can also generate dimensions that update automatically when you move objects, making it much easier to draft and review elevation views.

You can also use revision clouds to highlight where objects or elements were changed. This improves communication within a team and provides a clear structure for internal documentation.

What to expect from 3D

3D support is notably less comfortable than 2D. You can switch between 2D and 3D conversions, but creating a brand-new 3D model can quickly reveal the extra complexity. Navigating a 3D workspace may feel mentally tiring—especially if you’re not already used to 3D tools.

Inside the 3D environment, you can rotate your view to inspect the model from every angle. You can also use a section plane to generate a live cross-section, letting you see internal details and add depth to your inspection workflow.

Features

  • Access and edit your DWG files
Open and work with DWG drawings directly on your mobile device. You can retrieve files from local storage, external cloud services, email, received attachments, and more—then edit them wherever and whenever you need.
  • Create and refine CAD drawings on the go
Start new CAD drafts inside the app and take advantage of the mobile-optimized experience. The app supports touch screens and pen-enabled tablets, delivering a PC-like editing workflow as you design.
  • Edit and annotate your AutoCAD drawings
Use the CAD editing tools to modify and mark up your designs. Many desktop-style capabilities are available on Android, so editing drawings and plans is straightforward.
  • Import values from Leica DISTO
Use imported measurement values from Leica DISTO to help ensure your constructions are based on accurate, appropriate data.
  • Object snaps and keypad input
Draw and edit with precision using Object Snap. You can also enter commands and numeric values efficiently through keypad input.
  • AutoCAD
