How to Use MNML Screen Recorder

Getting started with MNML Screen Recorder is very easy. I’ve tried a few different screen recording apps before, but this one felt simple from the moment I installed it.

I downloaded and installed MNML Screen Recorder from the Google Play Store, then opened it. After reaching the main screen, the app requested permission to read and write to my phone’s internal storage. Since MNML saves recorded clips automatically to the device’s internal storage, I allowed the permission.

Once permission was granted, I went to the main page. In the top-right corner there were three dots. At the bottom, I could see the record button. Tapping the three dots opened a menu with options like About, Donate, Provide feedback, and Settings. Since I already understood what the app does, I skipped the About section and went straight to Settings, then into the control area.

In the control section, there are four options: Stop on screen off, Stop on shake, Always show control, and Floating control. Each one can be useful—try them out and decide what works best for you.

Recording itself was the easiest part. I tapped the record button and recording started. During the session, the button changed from record to stop. When I finished, I pressed stop, and the saved file was stored automatically in my phone’s internal memory.

Control Settings

The control options are the same ones described above, so I won’t repeat them here. In my experience, this control section is one of the app’s best advantages because it lets you control how recording starts and ends.

• Stop on screen off: I used this option many times. Since my phone turns off the screen backlight after about 15 seconds, recording can end automatically if I forget to stop it.
• Stop on shake: Another helpful option. Instead of stopping manually, you can shake your phone to end the recording, which makes the process easier.

The other control options are fairly obvious, so there’s no need to explain them one by one.

Dark Mode

The MNML Screen Recorder experience feels incomplete without Dark mode. If an app doesn’t offer any interface customization, it can get boring over time. MNML includes extended Dark mode options that you don’t always see in other screen recorders, including:
