Quran Explorer is designed to make reading the Qur'an easier and more comfortable. The app includes Qur'an recitations, translations in multiple languages, and several helpful reading tools.

While the free edition already provides many options, the premium version delivers a fuller experience. With a subscription, you can open a library of translations, choose different reciters, and create unlimited bookmarks. Premium also supports audio playback in the background and lets you download the files you want, so you can use the app even without an internet connection.

You can jump to different recitations anytime. Use the index to browse quickly, or open the advanced search to narrow results. The search lets you filter recitations using different criteria, such as verse number, revelation, or topic/theme.

What is the Qur'an?

The Qur'an (often pronounced "Qor-Ann") is a message from Allah (swt) to humanity. It was conveyed through a chain of transmission: from Allah (swt) to the angel Gabriel, and then to Prophet Muhammad (saw).

The message was revealed to the Prophet (saw) gradually over about 23 years, from 610 CE to 632 CE. The Prophet (saw) began receiving the revelation at age 40, and it was completed when he was 63. The original language is Arabic, and today it has been translated into many other languages.

The Qur'an and the Sunnah

The Qur'an is one of the two main sources that form the foundation of Islam. The second source is the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw).

The key difference is in their form. The Qur'an is the actual Word of Allah (swt). The Sunnah, although inspired by Allah, reflects the Prophet’s (saw) wording and actions. The Qur'an is not expressed using human wording—its wording is fixed letter for letter by Allah.

Final message and preservation

Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the last Messenger of Allah, so the Qur'an is the final message Allah (swt) sent to us. Earlier revelations such as the Torah, Psalms, and Gospels have been superseded.

For anyone who hears about the Qur'an and Islam, it is both a duty and a blessing to study it and reflect on it personally. Allah (swt) has promised to protect the Qur'an from human alteration, and readers today can access accurate copies around the world. • “Great app—please bring back the feature! I really enjoyed it and chose it after researching. After the upgrade, the main feature I liked was removed. Before, I could use a slider to choose how many ayahs would be recited before the translation played (I usually set it to 4–5). So it would recite those ayahs in Arabic first, then play their translation. Now it seems to recite only 1 ayah at a time before the translation, which breaks the flow for me. I liked being able to set the number manually. Please tell me if it’s possible in this version too, or if that feature can be returned. I’d gladly donate for development if needed—that feature was excellent.”
