Kitsunebi 1.8.0

Kitsunebi — a Proxy Utility, sometimes described as a “versatile proxy utility” — is a paid app designed to support safer browsing online. Compared with many VPN apps, it focuses more on the technical side of network security. If you already understand basic transport and proxy protocols, you’ll likely find it especially useful.

The app supports several proxy protocols, including Shadowsocks, SOCKS, and VMess. It also includes transport protocols such as HTTP, KCP, TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), and QUIC (Quick UDP Internet Connections).

Note: managing outbound traffic effectively generally requires some technical knowledge. You’ll need to set up routing rules to control your traffic and help protect your privacy and security.

That said, the experience isn’t always smooth: some users may run into bugs or unstable connections, which can lead to delays and reduced productivity. Because of its protocol-heavy design, it may be harder for beginners or people unfamiliar with these technologies.

Final Words

Kitsunebi is a full-featured V2Ray client for Android. The core used in Kitsunebi builds on v2ray-core and adds logic to automatically choose the fastest node based on measured node delay.

You can create a node group through the graphical interface to enable this behavior. If you use custom configuration, there are several configurable items (other than tolerance).

The delay test is not an ICMP Ping or a TCP Ping. Instead, it works similarly to the latency strategy in load balancing: the app sends a proxy request to outbound and measures how long it takes to receive non-null data. This delay test is also effectively the same as checking availability/connectivity.

In practice, if the delay can be measured, the node is considered available. If the delay can’t be measured or the test times out, the node’s availability is treated as unknown.
