Hidester VPN is a newcomer that advertises quick speeds, high data limits, and the ability to get past geo-blocks on popular streaming services. I wanted to find out whether Hidester truly delivers on those promises—and whether a fresh VPN provider could offer better features than more established options.

In practice, Hidester proved unreliable. For weeks, I couldn’t get the service to work properly, even with help from support. Although Hidester claims it can unblock most streaming platforms, the small server network was slow and often laggy, making it difficult to even load one specific streaming library.

What concerned me most was the connection process itself. It wasn’t easy to get the app to link to Hidester’s servers. During testing, I could only use the CamoWeb proxy feature that’s included inside the app. The full VPN connection was too slow for meaningful testing.

Speed testing tools repeatedly rate top performance for this type of service, attributed to a purpose-built protocol based on WireGuard, plus a large server network spread across many countries. The idea is that you can also obtain dedicated IPs in more than 10 countries for specific needs.
