My 2048 Introduction
My 2048 My 2048 is a fun 4x4 sliding puzzle where you merge matching tiles to reach 2048 and score big. Every move spawns a new block—finish strong, chase achievements, and climb the leaderboard.
My 2048
My 2048 is a fun casual puzzle game that challenges you to think ahead. Each turn, you slide blocks on the board up, down, left, or right, combining matching numbers to form bigger tiles. Your goal is to reach 2048—and you can even keep going for higher values after that.
Be careful: every move spawns new tiles. If the board fills up and you can’t make any valid moves, the game is over. Merging tiles and making moves both contribute to your score, letting you show off your strategy and compete with players worldwide on the leaderboard. You can also unlock achievements, share them with friends, and earn likes as you progress.
Gameplay
How the board works
- The game uses a simple 4×4 grid.
- You control the tiles using the four arrow keys (move up, down, left, or right).
- At the start, there are two tiles already on the grid. Each one is either 2 or 4.
- After every move, one new tile appears in a random empty spot.
- A new tile is 2 with 90% probability, and 4 with 10% probability.
Sliding and merging rules
- When you choose a direction, tiles slide as far as possible until blocked by the grid edge or another tile.
- If two tiles with the same number collide during a slide, they merge into one tile whose value is the sum of both tiles.
- The merged tile cannot merge again within the same move.
- Higher-value tiles glow softly. The biggest possible tile listed is 131,072.
Special merge behavior
- If a move results in three tiles of the same value sliding together in a row, only the two tiles farthest along in the movement direction will combine.
- If a full row or column (all 4 spaces) becomes filled with the same value, then a move parallel to that line will merge the first two and the last two.
Score and winning

- The scoreboard appears in the upper-right.
- Your score starts at 0.
- Whenever two tiles merge, your score increases by the value of the new tile.

Win condition: You win when a tile showing 2048 appears on the board. You can continue playing after that to chase even higher scores.
End condition: The game ends when you have no legal moves—meaning there are no empty spaces and no adjacent tiles with the same value to merge.

Player Comments
“Really fun” and feels competitive, but not frustrating when you lose. I’ve played for nearly 3 years on both iOS and Android. It would be nice to have automatic dark/light mode (based on brightness or a chosen time), but I still love the game either way.

“Very addicting” with not many ads. I can play for hours, and when I switch to another game, it’s mostly so I don’t get stuck on this all day.
“Competitive and hard” with challenging gameplay. If you want a great challenge, this game is worth trying—straight up 5 stars.
“Fun, but the Challenges are difficult”. They mention that scores should not be odd (not divisible by 2). In a (Fake) Multiplayer scenario, they saw a score of 21 and wondered if a “1 tile” spawned instead of a “2 tile.” Overall they still find it challenging and fun, and hope someone reaches more than 8,192.
Suggestion: When the game ends, it would be helpful to pause so you can inspect the board and see what happened and your score. Right now, the moment you lose, you’re sent to another screen and can’t review what went wrong.
Useful Tips
Keep a “full home row”
If you play a few times using a common approach, you may notice a weakness: when you get stuck and try moving horizontally in the opposite direction, it often has the side effect of pushing the highest tile toward the center of its row. That can be dangerous because a new 2 or 4 might spawn in the corner that became available, making it harder to bring the highest tile back.
The safer plan is to prevent that movement. Whenever you can, try to keep the row with the highest corner tile full (all 4 slots filled). This way, you can reverse direction horizontally without risking your highest tile drifting away from its corner.
Collapse rows to create space
When the board is running tight, the same horizontal “move against the usual direction” idea can still work. The reason is that the tile layout often becomes more aligned when you shift the 2nd and 3rd rows to the right—ideally leaving the 1st home row unchanged because it stays fully occupied.
By combining this with the “full home row” approach above, you’ll be better prepared for situations where space becomes scarce.
Avoid getting trapped
Avoid being trapped by planning for empties and potential merges. If you run out of free spaces and no neighboring tiles can combine, the game will end immediately—so aim to preserve merge opportunities and room to maneuver.
