Story Mode

Valkyrie Connect offers multiple ways to play, but the Story Mode is the heart of the experience. If you like collecting, you’ll gather characters. If you enjoy crafting, you can also forge and upgrade weapons and armor. However, the main focus is the storyline: you play a human who finds a mythical dagger that lets you summon Norse gods and heroes to support you in combat.

The summoned heroes are the core of the game. You summon heroes, form a team, and then fight monsters. The general routine feels familiar—but the key difference is that you don’t fully micromanage your characters. Your heroes largely handle basic attacks automatically, so you usually have little to do during those moments.

Your job is to manage their skills and their Limit Burst moves, which is where real tactics matter. Take time to learn what each hero can do and how their skills affect the fight. Don’t assume you should trigger everything at once—spamming attacks early can overwhelm the battlefield and ruin your chances against the enemy. Instead, coordinate skills so your team can support one another effectively.

It’s also smart not to use every skill the moment you receive it. Your roster won’t always be full of top-tier powerhouses, and weaker characters can get knocked out quickly. Save abilities for when your team truly needs them—especially for Limit Burst sequences.

Limit Bursts work like a limited resource. You must build up to use them, and you can only activate one character’s Limit Burst per charge. Knowing which Limit Burst fits the situation—and which hero should deliver it—is essential. In other words, you act like the tactician guiding your squad: learn how each Limit Burst operates and use it at the right moment.
