Where The Heart Is is a casual, story-driven game where your decisions shape the emotional path you take. You step into the role of a young man who comes back to his hometown after his father’s death, still feeling pulled toward Monica—his father’s former best friend—and the complicated feelings that follow.

Your journey quickly becomes entangled with Monica’s two daughters. Over time, you’ll work to strengthen your connection with them through story events and dialogue choices. As you move forward, you’ll slowly uncover hidden truths about the town and the people living in it—while the relationship dynamics expand into a harem-style direction.

As the story progresses, you can unlock a growing set of intimate animations, learn more about each woman’s background, and discover additional secrets. The game is supported with ongoing updates, including more story chapters and new intimate animations, so there’s always more to experience.

Gameplay

After the brief prologue, the story begins and you’ll be asked to set your main character’s name. The default is NoName. You can change the name later at any time by using the option in the save menu.

Your choices matter. Use the Stats link in the bottom menu to see how your responses are being received. The number on the left shows your current stat, while the number on the right shows the scene’s maximum.

Important: Stats don’t always map directly to outcomes. For example, you might reach 100 with one woman and still end up with a different result than with another character at 200.

The writing also responds to your behavior: if you play the “horny/flirt-first” type, you shouldn’t expect everyone to react positively—much like real life. At the same time, there’s nothing stopping you from saying what a person wants to hear. That said, none of the characters are written as someone looking for a strictly monogamous relationship with you.

Chances to get “caught” with other women are limited in this season. It’s likely more of that will be added in Season 2. A threesome route exists, but it does not occur during this season.

At the end of scenes, you can either replay the animations or continue the story.
