Story

The Veil Chronicles: Nix University is an energetic, colorful adventure built in a carefully crafted author universe. It blends visual novel storytelling with RPG elements and turn-based combat.

Long ago, the Veil swallowed large parts of the world—devouring entire cities and countries in the process.

Since then, a massive dome of snow-white Veil has risen, looking like an enormous, unnaturally even mountain. It can be seen from almost anywhere.

The Veil doesn’t only bring fear and chaos—it also contains Veil Stones, an invaluable source of magic and energy.

Inside the Veil, space itself becomes distorted. Monsters roam freely, and everything is wrapped in a thick layer of mystery—so even an ordinary person can easily become lost.

However, there is an organization that can function within it: the Order of Phantoms. Through a special ritual, Phantoms become bonded to the Veil, gaining the ability to navigate inside, detect monsters, and locate Veil Stones.

At the border of the Veil stands Nix University, a training center for future Phantoms. John Koety heads there with one purpose: to become a Phantom and uncover what happened to his missing brother…

News

• The game backgrounds were originally created using AI generation. The team has started switching to hand-drawn backgrounds. No exact timeline was given, but they estimate replacing everything could take around 6 months.
• The developers also want to release on Steam this year. They expect the announcement to be closer to March and hope for your support.

  What I liked so far:

  • 1. The animation art looks absolutely perfect. Minor optimization is needed to make animated scenes smoother, but overall it’s spot-on.
  • 2. Most gameplay mechanics fit this kind of adult game well—neither overly grindy nor too difficult, and not so easy that you’d want to skip combat. The turn-based RPG approach is fun and engaging.
  • 3. The quest guide is a great addition. Early on, it helped a lot with figuring out where to go and who to meet. Location markers were also extremely helpful.

  

  • 4. Character designs are distinct and feel full of personality. The women are beautiful and very sexy. The main character feels a bit more plain in comparison, but the player hopes that can be improved.
