World of Warships: Legends is a well-known naval strategy game where you take command of ships from many different nations. Before each match, you pick a suitable commander and then head into PvE battles or player-versus-player showdowns. You steer your vessel, reposition with smart maneuvers, and use your main guns to sink enemy ships and secure victory.

Every destroyer, cruiser, battleship, and aircraft carrier—as well as each commander—is built around real historical figures. Commanders bring distinct abilities, so choosing the right one for your ship and your playstyle can give you a real edge. The game is also supported with ongoing updates, including new ships, new commanders, and seasonal events designed to keep things fresh.

Gameplay

Players can select from 9 nations: the United States, Japan, Great Britain, Germany, France, the Soviet Union, Italy, Pan-Europe, and Pan-Asia. Each nation offers its own tech tree and many distinctive ships, but all vessels fall into four main classes:

• Destroyers
• Cruisers
• Battleships
• Aircraft Carriers

Beyond a large library of historically inspired ships, the game includes multiple ways to play. Currently, there are three permanent modes, while event modes are added regularly.

Permanent modes

• Versus AI: A PvE mode where a team of players fights against bot-controlled opponents. Rewards are lower, but the match is more approachable.

WOWS: Legends also differs from World of Warships in several notable ways: fights are generally more action-focused, battles are played with smaller teams, the controls have been reworked, and more.

But when you learn to position behind cover and angle your armor toward incoming fire, your survivability improves dramatically. Using cover and proper angling can make a huge difference in every fight.

Manage Cooldowns and Consumables Carefully

Learning when to use your consumables can completely change the outcome of a battle. For example, using your Damage Control Party too early can backfire later—especially when you’re hit by multiple fires at once. Instead, save key consumables for critical moments, like repairing important modules or recovering a large chunk of health. It takes practice to find the best timing, but the payoff is well worth it.

Learn Shell Types and Improve Your Aim

Getting comfortable with different shell types and sharpening your aim is a rewarding process. Many players start by struggling to choose between AP and HE shells, and missed shots are common when aim isn’t dialed in yet. With practice, you’ll get better at selecting the right shell for the situation and targeting the right areas on enemy ships.
