Gameplay of MLBB

MLBB is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) built for smartphones and tablets. It’s free-to-play, with monetization handled through in-game purchases like heroes and skins.

Each match centers on controlling a chosen character, called a Hero, who has distinct abilities and playstyle traits. Heroes are grouped into six roles, which guide what you typically do for your team:

• Tank
• Marksman
• Assassin
• Fighter
• Mage
• Support

The two main match types are Classic and Ranked.

Ranked mode

• Two teams of five players battle in real time.
• Matchmaking considers your current rank, so opponents are closer in level.
• There are seven ranks: Warrior (lowest), then Elite, Master, Grandmaster, Epic, Legend, and Mythic (highest).
• Mythic includes sub-ranks: Mythical Honor, Mythical Glory, and Mythical Immortal.
• You can only create a team with players of a similar rank, or with someone one rank higher or lower.

Core objective and map layout

The primary goal is to destroy the enemy base. The battlefield includes three lanes:

• Gold lane (top)
• Exp lane (bottom)
• Mid lane

Depending on whether you start on the blue or red side, the gold and exp lanes swap positions. The space between lanes is the jungle, which is split into four sections: two near the enemy’s lanes and two near your own. Jungle creeps and monsters provide buffs, experience, and gold.

Turrets and lane pressure

You can’t attack the enemy base directly unless you first take down enemy turrets in at least one lane. Each lane has three turrets that deal heavy damage to heroes. To push safely, you generally rely on your team’s minions, which spawn from your base and march down each lane.

As your team destroys turrets, you improve your chances of breaking through to the opponent’s base. Fully clearing turrets in one or more lanes increases your overall push potential.

Classic mode differences

Classic plays similarly, but your match results don’t affect your rank. You can also team up freely even if ranks differ, and you may select heroes along with weekly free heroes and any trial cards you have.
