The Room 1 Introduction
The Room 1 Trapped in a mysterious room, solve horror-themed 3D puzzles in The Room 1. Use a special lens and camera perspective to piece together hidden numbers, unlock boxes, and uncover the story.
The Room 1

The Room 1 is a horror-themed escape puzzle game made for players who enjoy suspense and mystery. You’re trapped in a world packed with secrets, and the only way out is to rely on your logic to solve the puzzles hidden inside the room.
The game includes a tutorial so you can learn how to use different items while still following the story. As you progress, you’ll uncover how to escape step by step—by solving what’s hidden in the room’s mechanisms.
The puzzles revolve heavily around camera-based viewing. You’ll need to change the camera’s perspective to examine different parts of the room and line up hidden number fragments. Once you assemble the right pieces, you can reveal the password and move forward.
Gameplay Overview
The Room is a 3D puzzle experience with a light but eerie narrative. At the start, you receive information through letters tied to a mysterious box inside a house. As you solve puzzles around the box, you’ll find additional notes from the same writer—someone who previously uncovered what the box is capable of.

Those letters explain the box’s connection to a strange material called “Null”, and they also hint that the author’s mental state deteriorates over time.
Puzzle Boxes and Progression
When you begin, you’re introduced to the first of four puzzle boxes. The first box acts as a control tutorial, showing you how to move around and interact with the box’s features.

You also have a small inventory for items you find in compartments. One key inventory item is a special lens that lets you see objects made from the Null element—revealing parts of the puzzle that aren’t visible under normal viewing.
In many cases, the lens works best when you adjust your view so hidden elements line up into a clear symbol. Your main objective is to fully unlock each puzzle box, revealing a smaller box inside—each one gradually more complex.
Key Features
Tactile 3D Puzzle Boxes
- Complex box mechanisms respond to touch.
- Objects rotate in space and shift shape as you solve each layer.
- Every solution triggers another transformation, opening up fresh areas to inspect.
Signature Eyepiece Mechanic
- The eyepiece reveals markings and components that are otherwise hidden.
- Using it at the right moments uncovers clues, ciphers, and concealed puzzle parts.
- The game blends the eyepiece view naturally, so switching between normal view and inspection stays smooth.

Mobile-Friendly Touch Controls
- Designed for phones and tablets.
- Tap, drag, and pinch gestures let you inspect details, align pieces, and read notes.
- New players can get started quickly, while experienced players can move through longer puzzle sequences efficiently.
Atmosphere and Audio
- Sound design and subtle effects set an unsettling mood for each puzzle.
- Quiet creaks, mechanical clicks, and ambient tones can signal progress and suggest what to try next.
- Headphones are recommended for clearer audio cues and a more immersive session.
Layered Mystery Through Notes
- The story is delivered through short letters and references to the Null Element.
- As you unlock compartments, you gather context and interpret each message.
- The narrative supports the puzzles without dragging the pace down.
Strategies for The Room 1
- Swipe to move the camera around.
- Double tap items to zoom in and interact.
- Pinch to zoom in or out.
- You can replay chapters later if you want to revisit a specific section.
- If you finish a chapter (or the whole game), you can share achievements on Facebook or Twitter at the end of each chapter and at the end of the game.
The eyepiece is also a frequent stumbling point: tap it to reveal secret items and areas you might not notice otherwise.
The question mark in the upper-left corner offers general hints when you’re unsure what to do.
Some actions require physical movement: when the instructions ask for it, tilt and move your device as directed.
If you’re completely stuck, try experimenting with something in your inventory or returning to another part of the puzzle. Completing steps out of order can sometimes cause problems.
Player Feedback

“Excellent—graphics are great. You really need to pay attention to every tiny detail. The hints feel helpful and make you think harder in the right direction. I also like how small triggers can open up different areas or locks.”
“Fun and interesting, with a fair challenge level—not too easy, but not unfairly hard either. Nice visuals and atmosphere. Small issue: the resume/restart/quit options seem too close together. I worry I’ll lose progress when I pause. Workaround: press the phone back button to continue play.”
