Survival Mission Z is a visual novel built for adult players. You step into the role of Roy, a former police officer, as he and his fiancée Sherry fight to stay alive in a world overrun by zombies. Your goal is to make it all the way to the U.S. capital—before your supplies run out and before the danger catches up.

As Roy, you’ll have to scout hostile areas packed with undead, track down loot and essential resources, and dig deeper into the history behind this post-apocalyptic world. The more you explore, the closer you get to uncovering what really happened around the capital.

• Dynamic Decisions

  Roy’s choices can influence who lives and who doesn’t during the zombie apocalypse. Sometimes you’ll need to make brutal, urgent calls—or even fight off a group of zombies while trapped in tight quarters—to protect someone’s life.

• Equipment Upgrades

  Roy can send his handgun to a local weaponsmith for stronger upgrades. You can also buy improved melee weapons and upgrade Roy’s backpack to increase storage capacity. The more you can carry back, the faster you’ll be able to push past the base and head to Washington D.C. with Sherry.

  During scouting missions, Roy will eventually have to defend himself against relentless zombies. You may be able to avoid many threats, but pushing through with raw force can be a satisfying and dependable strategy—just make sure you keep an eye on your ammo. Your combat options include melee weapons such as a crowbar or axe, Roy’s handgun, and the possibility of gun upgrades.

• Explore and Survive

  Each scouting location offers its own tasks, secrets, and objectives as Roy travels deeper into the city. Even when new areas unlock, you still decide how far to go: venture into harsher zones far from the base for higher-value loot, or stay closer to safer areas with fewer zombies for more modest rewards.

• Interact

  Even in a brutal world, there’s still hope. Roy’s decisions can affect others directly—such as when he saves someone’s life—or indirectly by uncovering important truths. Take time to listen to people you meet at the base and throughout the city, since they may either provide critical information or ask for your help.

Characters

• SHERRY

  Sherry once served in the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Force. She retired shortly before the world was consumed by the rising zombie plague. Her former military comrades called her “Gorilla Woman” due to her strength and exceptional close-quarters combat skills.

  Favorite food: strawberries.

  

• GORDON

  Before the outbreak, Gordon worked as a motorcycle mechanic. Today, he leads a small group of survivors who run their own base.

  Gordon also knows Sherry and Roy from when they were in college together.



• ROY

  Roy is a former police officer and Sherry’s current boyfriend. The two first met during one of his cases, when she covered him with gunfire.

  Since the outbreak, Roy and Sherry have been traveling together through the zombie-infested country, searching for a safer future.

  Expect to fight back during scouting missions. Avoiding enemies can work, but going on the offensive is often effective—if you manage your ammo. From melee weapons like a crowbar or axe to Roy’s handgun (and potential gun upgrades), you have multiple ways to clear a path.

  Every location you enter has something to uncover—quests, secrets, or useful leads. When deciding where to scout, weigh the reward against the risk: farther areas can bring better loot, while staying nearer to the base may result in safer, lower-stakes finds.

  Roy’s actions can change other people’s lives. Pay attention to the conversations at the base and across the city—your contacts may offer valuable information or directly need your help.
