Catalyst Black Introduction
Catalyst Black Catalyst Black is a team-based action-adventure shooter where you explore maps with friends, pick unique melee or ranged characters, upgrade gear for more firepower, and compete in modes like Capture the Flag and Core Rush.
Catalyst Black
Catalyst Black is an action-adventure game where you and your friends team up to explore a range of maps. Choose from a diverse roster of characters, each with their own fighting style—whether you prefer close-quarters melee or ranged combat.

To keep growing stronger, you’ll need to collect and upgrade your gear so you can deal more damage, defeat opposing players, and push your way to victory. The game includes multiple exciting modes—Capture the Flag, Core Control, Arena, and Killing Spree—each with its own brand of fun and a different way to play.
Game Modes in Catalyst Black
- Capture the Flag: Teams try to steal the enemy flag from the opposite side of the map. After grabbing it, you must return the flag to your own home base to earn a point. The first team to reach 5 points wins.
- Flag Hunters: Players collect and hold flags dropped by NPC monsters called Guardians. Once a team reaches 10 flags, a countdown begins. If any player currently leading the flag count dies, the timer resets. When the timer ends, the team controlling the most flags wins.
- Core Rush: A king-of-the-hill style mode. First, you defeat a Guardian, which creates a circular zone that players must hold for a set time to earn points. The first team to score 15 points wins.
- Colosseum (currently the only PvE mode): Face waves of increasingly difficult monsters through timed, event-like trials. The quicker your team clears all enemies, the more rewards you earn.
- Eventide: Two teams of up to 15 players each battle on one of the game’s largest maps. Throughout the match, you’ll take part in multiple mini-game events that award points. The first team to reach the goal wins the overall match, and individual players can also earn in-game rewards for their participation.
- Slayer: A true battle royale-style mode where you aim for the most kills until you hit a target goal or the timer runs out. Players who survive longer are worth more points when eliminated, shown by blue diamond indicators above their characters.

Key Features
- Be the hero—fast: Use a primal power that can wipe out an entire enemy team. Make every second count, then transform back when it’s time.
- Collect, upgrade, and customize: Build the best loadout for your playstyle. Hunt as a long-range sniper, go toe-to-toe with a sneaky assassin, or counter enemies as a primal hunter.
- Play as a party: Jump into matches instantly with friends. Meet new allies, plan your strategy, and secure victory together.
- Explore the Welkin Islands: Embark on an expedition to discover valuable power caches across the exotic Welkin Islands. High above Kyria, the Welkins offer near limitless access to this mysterious resource—along with secrets tied to Catalyst Black.
- Fight players and bosses: Take on Hydra, earn points toward victory in Slayer, and contest control of an ancient fortress in Eventide—plus much more.

Strategies for Catalyst Black
- Don’t forget to dodge: Dodging is easy to overlook, but it can save you in stressful moments. If you’re getting ganked or you’re about to go down—use the dodge to slip away quickly.
- Claim your rewards: After each fight, there are usually rewards waiting for you, such as quest completions, leveling items, or random loot. Grab everything you can—more power helps you perform better.
- Keep upgrading: Always improve your gear and skills. When you unlock new weapons or equipment, check whether they outperform what you’re currently using. Also learn what your equipment actually does so you can apply it effectively.
- Stick with your team: Avoid running solo when possible. Stay close, support each other with abilities, and fight as a unit—teamwork makes enemy takedowns much more consistent. If you use Primal, you can roam a bit, but don’t go too far; allies nearby may receive buffs from primal effects.

Player Comments

“Just a well-made, really fun game. Compared to other reviews, I haven’t had much trouble with match making. And even when I face someone much higher level, it doesn’t seem to matter as much if you’re skilled. The only issue…”
