The Promise Introduction

The Promise Take control of a middle-aged man trying to keep promises to his family in The Promise. Make choices that shape careers, relationships, hidden stats, and endings—plus side stories and immersive 3D scenes.

The Promise

The Promise is a casual, story-driven game where your decisions shape what happens next. You play a middle-aged man who works hard to keep promises to his family, moving through a chain of events, adventures, and encounters with all kinds of characters.

As you make choices, the story can head down different paths. That means you’ll see different endings and career outcomes, plus deeper conversations with the people you care about. You can also unlock various intimate scenes as the relationships unfold.

The Promise

In the game, you can influence family dynamics—such as raising a loved one’s corruption or strengthening love—through dialogue and the decisions you make during story events. In the end, the big question is simple: will your life become happy and fulfilling, or will someone close to you betray you? The outcome depends entirely on what you choose.

Key Features

  • 3D graphics & animations: Enjoy high-quality 3D visuals and animations that aim to keep the experience immersive.
  • Life simulation: Live out the life of a middle-aged man and make decisions that affect not only you, but also the people around you.
  • The Promise

  • Multiple storylines: There’s an individual main story as well as a global main story, letting you choose your direction and explore different results.
  • Hidden stats & relationships: Certain situations are triggered by concealed stats. For example, they can reveal changes in your wife’s corruption. Building connections and increasing corruption can be key to unlocking specific scenes and events.
  • Different endings: Each character can receive different endings based on your choices and actions, giving you reasons to replay and explore alternative outcomes.
  • Side stories & events: The game includes many smaller detours and optional events, each tied to what you decide—adding variety and depth.

Changelog (Latest Notes)

The Promise

Scene break & follow-up questions: The last update paused a major scene right as Lisa left the bathroom to socialize—right when you and the young man were on the doorstep. The new update asks what the young lady might have seen or heard, and how she responds. It also continues the question of what’s happening with your wife during the full moon, and how you should react (helpful, understanding, or otherwise—your call).

Radiation concern: There’s also a question about whether watching TV together is still safe due to radiation—specifically, not just what’s on the screen. Is Michelle the only one affected, or has Scentek become a wider national issue? A news broadcast might help you learn more, but what will you do with that knowledge? And will you be yourself tonight, too?

Added segments from the last BF visit: The next part of the BF’s last visit has been added, but it’s noted as not complete yet.

The Promise

  • Christmas follow-up: Even though Christmas has ended, Lisa still hopes for more gifts—especially if you’ve made a deal with her.
  • Store gift response: More reactions were added when you buy Lisa a book from the store after making the NTD.
  • Dishwashing help: Lisa isn’t fond of doing dishes, and new scenes were added where helping her out happens after making the NTD.
  • Customer route (Michelle): If you take the client route, your wife expects a client who “tells it like it is.” A new scene was added for Michelle’s customer route.
  • City Hall route (Trudy): More scenes were added at City Hall for the Trudy route, including an update about the secretary becoming more curious.
  • Cinema vendor minigame: The minigame for the cinema vendor was reworked to make it easier to understand when you’re actually winning.
  • Audio: New music and sound effects added.
  • Content polish: Some dialogues and scenes were improved (credit: SDevil, Editor and Scene Writer).
  • Fixes: Typos fixed, along with several smaller bugs.

Player Comments

  • Positive review: The game was enjoyed overall, with the note that it’s mainly for fans of sandbox/grinding-style play. The reviewer also mentions that some scenes can get “weird,” which may not suit everyone, but praises the writing and the “slow-progressing” elements. They recommend it, stating that it stays enjoyable even when a few scenes feel too kinky.

  • More feedback: Another player says the developer understands how to build a “slow burn,” and while they would prefer the pacing to move a bit faster, they still consider it pretty good. They describe the graphics and animations as average but grounded, and say fetishes have been explored well so far. They also mention side stories with various women and different backgrounds, while wishing for more variety in pub-sharing events and open sex with clients at City Hall.
