Activesoft has announced that its well-known adult visual novel Bible Black will be published by Nintendo for Wii U and 3DS. A major talking point is how far this release departs from Nintendo’s usual, more family-friendly branding.

Bible Black is especially recognized for its anime adaptation. That anime includes a number of explicit futa (female genitalia) scenes and has built a large, dedicated fanbase. Interestingly, the game itself contains only a small amount of futa content—focused on just one or two characters.

I’m a big fan of visual novels, and Bible Nights is one of my favorite games. That said, the original is quite old—running at just 640x480 and often struggling with compatibility on newer systems. That’s why I decided to make a modern remastered version of this classic.

What I’m Working On

• Remastering the original script using the Ren'Py engine.
• Keeping the official translation while fixing typos.
• Preserving the original voice acting.
• Making transitions and animations as faithful to the original as possible.
• Scaling all background images and illustrations up to 1920x1080.
• Using non-generative AI for zooming (without adding new details) and generative AI to expand certain images by filling in blank areas.



• Reproducing the user interface: using a generally modern Ren'Py UI, while taking most UI elements from the original game to keep the same style.
• Including a gallery (sprites, artwork, and scenes) plus a music player, just like the original.
• Providing multi-platform support: the current version is available for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android.

Final Words

Activesoft also shared that each game version will support interactive controls using the touchscreens on both consoles. For the 3DS version, the graphics will be slightly adjusted to better take advantage of the device’s 3D features.

The official announcement additionally mentioned a touchscreen-based simulator, where players can interact with various female characters from the game.
