Sonic Suggests Introduction

Sonic Suggests Sonic Suggests is a fan-made 3D adventure where Sanic returns to Green Hill Zone. Team up with Teils and Nukleks to defeat Dr. Eegman with simple controls, a tutorial, and hilarious sound effects.

Sonic Suggests

Sonic Suggests is a fan-made game inspired by the character Sanic. It brings a playful, 3D-style adventure with distinctive modeling and a lot of chaotic charm. In this game, you take control of the protagonist and team up with friends to push back against evil forces.

Your goal is to defeat Dr. Eegman in familiar locations, then find your way back to your own dimension. Expect goofy sound effects, exaggerated character designs, and a lighthearted tone that makes the whole experience feel different from the usual platformer.

The controls are straightforward, and a tutorial is included so you can jump in quickly and start the adventure right away.

Gameplay

In Sonic Suggests, Sanic is suddenly transported back to the classic Green Hill Zone. From there, he teams up with Teils the Fux and Nukelks the Enchillada to challenge the evil Dr. Eegman.

What you’ll experience next is a wildly strange 3D platforming run—packed with awkward, “janky” movement moments, intentionally ugly character models, and plenty of humorous in-jokes.

While meme-style Sanic games aren’t rare, what sets this one apart is the character design quality and the cinematic camera angles. The characters may look intentionally mangled, but the warped, crash-like visuals are hard to look away from.

Features

Sonic Suggests

  • Be smart, be fast, be Sanic!
Sprint through some of the most recognizable Sonic the Hedgehog zones at extremely high speeds. The classic areas also get a fresh, high-definition look with modern graphical effects.
  • Teils and Nukleks are back!
Teils the Fux and Nukleks the Enchillada used to mostly appear as background characters in cutscenes—but now they’re fully playable companions. They’ll stick with Sanic and assist him throughout his missions.
  • Sonic Suggests

  • A cinematic experience
Skillfully directed camera angles deliver a cinematic presentation, and the interactive storytelling helps keep you engaged from start to finish.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Sonic Suggests

  • A fun parody of the original
  • Includes nods to Sonic game features

Cons

  • Not an official SEGA game
  • Very short

Develop Notes

The creator didn’t originally plan for a mobile release, which is why the game uses very high-poly models—not ideal for phones.

To improve mobile performance, effects were reduced and shaders were adjusted in parts. However, the mobile version is essentially a “proof of concept”, since only a small number of people requested it, and it isn’t actively supported at the moment.

You’ll also need a fairly powerful device to run it smoothly (about ~20 FPS on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro).

Conclusion

Sonic Suggests is a delightfully strange adventure that keeps a smile on your face from beginning to end, with an unexpectedly polished feel for something that’s essentially one long meme. It may not be the best Sonic outing, but it’s still far better than Sonic Forces.
