Magical Girl Celesphonia
Magical Girl Celesphonia is a story-driven casual game where you step into the role of a magical girl and travel through the city to help protect its residents. Along the way, you’ll explore different areas, fight a variety of monsters, train your stats, and unlock new skills that boost your combat strength.
The narrative is split into multiple branches, and your progress through the city—along with whether you manage to stop the monster invasion—will affect how things unfold. Will you reach the kind of ending everyone hopes for? You can also dress your character in different outfits and styles to make her look even more dazzling.
Gameplay
Story moments + tactical battles
The game combines story stages with strategic combat.
Story Mode: Follow the magical girls as you discover their abilities, face new challenges, and gradually uncover the truth behind the dark forces threatening the world.
Battle Mode: When combat begins, you form a team of three magical girls. Use their powers and abilities in a smart, tactical way to defeat enemies. As you advance, you can unlock additional magical girls and continue strengthening your team.
Collecting gems and cards
- Magical gems can be collected to unlock new characters and upgrade ones you already have. Gems can be earned through gameplay or bought from the in-game store.
- Card collections let you unlock special abilities and power-ups for your favorite magical girls. Cards may appear in the game or be purchased in the store.

Player Impressions
- Exploration-heavy RPG: There’s plenty to explore, including the school area for “medals” you can trade for rewards. Shops and vending machines are usable even during combat stages.
- Character-focused protagonist: The main character has a real personality rather than acting like a blank self-insert. It’s also not reduced to “only pure innocence.”
- Progression via a “lust” stat: Some scenes and activities are initially locked. Players raise a “lust” stat to unlock them—starting with lighter content and progressing to heavier unlocks later.
- Large amount of H-content: The game includes many themes and scenarios (e.g., bathhouse, streaming, exhibitionism, tentacles, bukkake), plus outfits and costumes. Certain items can even make clothing see-through.
- Achievement-like titles: Completing various H-related activities grants “titles” that act like passive achievement rewards, such as increasing “shame resistance.”
- Auto-resolve combat: While the combat system may feel average, there are ways to auto-resolve battles so you don’t have to watch every fight. The reviewer notes this is a major improvement compared to the developer’s earlier game, Ambrosia.
- Balanced RPG structure: The progression feels neither too restrictive (no endless “go to the next dungeon” feeling) nor too vague (players aren’t left totally unsure what to do next).
- Music and atmosphere: The soundtrack isn’t described as groundbreaking, but it supports the overall mood well. The saxophone is repeatedly used and fits the modern-day setting better than instruments like the violin.
- Story and villains: The plot isn’t considered exceptional, but it still works as an acceptable story for the genre. Villains are portrayed in a more cartoonish style, fitting the magical girl theme—especially given the presence of H content.
