Pikuniku
Pikuniku is a laid-back puzzle adventure where you set off on a journey through strange characters and team up to solve brainteasers. You’ll use items found around the world to overcome obstacles, and each solved puzzle brings you closer to bigger rewards—while gradually revealing a larger conspiracy behind everything.
The game also includes custom levels. Use the level editor to place obstacles and puzzles with intention, then share your creations with the community. Your level can earn likes and comments from other players. If you enjoy puzzle platformers and adventure-style storytelling, Pikuniku is well worth your time.
Tips & Tricks
Want to finish stages faster (and with fewer headaches)? Here are a few practical strategies that can make a big difference.

Roll to Move Faster
- Rolling is usually your quickest way to travel.
- Whenever you can, roll instead of walking.
- When you stop rolling, Piku does a short hop.
- That quick hop can help you clear some obstacles, but watch for moments where you’ll actually need a full jump to reach the right distance.
Use Momentum to Swing Higher
- When you swing from swing anchors, you often only need to move left or right.
- But you can do more: push on the analogue stick in the direction you want and you can usually swing all the way around.
- This lets you land on the platform directly above the anchor, saving time in certain sections.
- In later levels, this technique becomes important for reaching co-op trophies.

Using the Water Hat
- About halfway through the game, you’ll receive the water hat.
- With it equipped, you can water certain flowers to grow them into larger plants that act as platforms.
- Important: you must interact with the flowers while wearing the water hat. Just interacting with the flowers without it won’t trigger the planting effect.
Find Hidden Sections
- Hidden areas are often hinted at by jagged edges along the walls.
- They usually aren’t too hard to spot once you know what to look for.
- Some of these sections are required for the main story.
- Certain walls can be kicked open—look for visible cracks in the wall.
- In the forest town shop, you can buy X-Ray glasses for 50 coins. They make detecting these hidden spots easier.
Player Comments
- Overall impression: It’s engaging and pretty faithful to what the trailer shows.
- Story & ideas: A fun premise, lots of interesting moments, and—somehow—really strong level design.
- Bosses: Boss fights feel less impressive compared to the rest.
- Time to complete: One player finished a “100%” run in about 3 hours.
- Performance: Charming art style and no noticeable issues with bugs, coding, or similar problems.
- Value vs trailer: The game offers a few solid hours similar to the trailer’s promise, so it’s worth judging what that time is worth to you.

- Another review: A charming puzzle platformer with an experience that feels a bit like Locoroco.
- Content length: Some players felt it’s light on content.
- What makes up for it: Co-op play, a funny story, and a very consistent overall experience.
- Story length: The story is short—around 2–3 hours to reach completion for some players.
- Coherence: Music, visuals, gameplay, and story all fit together smoothly.
- Gameplay focus: You play a small red, two-legged monster and spend most of the time helping NPCs with their problems, with a few simple side missions.
- Co-op options: Local co-op is available in special co-op levels, and you can also play Basketball locally against each other.
- Stage length: Levels are fairly short, and co-op may amount to roughly about an hour depending on play.
- Wish list: More levels with greater challenge would improve the experience.

- Parental play experience: One player described it as “Capitalism for Babies” in game form.
- With a child: A 5-year-old could enjoy it too, with help reading dialogue and tackling tougher puzzles and battles.
- Thematic takeaway: The gameplay gradually raises questions about a character’s “free money” promise and how it connects to capitalism and resource exploitation.
- Why it works: The message is delivered through a funny storyline, jokes, an enjoyable soundtrack, and endearing characters.
- Price & enjoyment: It’s viewed as affordable, and after completing the game, players also enjoyed the co-op stages together.
Walkthrough (Beginning)
The game starts with a commercial featuring Mr. Sunshine, a pink character wearing a top hat. He offers the island’s residents “free money” in exchange for their “junk,” which he gathers using giant robots. What he collects, however, turns out to be valuable resources—like food—for the citizens of the island.
After that, Piku is awakened by a ghost inside a cave. The ghost is friendly and tells Piku that he needs to leave. Once Piku escapes, he learns he was mistakenly branded by a legend as an evil beast. After he unintentionally breaks a bridge, the frightened villagers near the area lock him up in a cage in the village—called The (the walkthrough continues from there).
