Your Role in the Transitional Realm

After waking up, you (your chosen name for the protagonist) find yourself in the “Transitional Realm”, a space that sits between the old world and the new one. Before long, you meet Mira, an Ent—a metaphysical helper sent to guide you.

From Mira, you learn why you’re here: you must assist those who still cling to the past. These lingering humans hold tightly to memories of their previous lives, and your job is twofold—help them come to terms with who they are now, while also uncovering what caused their situation in the first place.

Player Impressions

“I love it!” I had played their Now and Then before finding this one. Honestly, it might be the best game I’ve ever played. The plot and character growth are excellent, and the writing is among the best I’ve read. Sadly, I accidentally overwrote my save file, so I can’t revisit all the girls’ endings. My previous favorite was Eternum (highly recommended). If anyone can, please suggest other great games too—on itch.io or elsewhere.

“Truly amazing, but needs careful proofreading.” I’m enjoying it a lot, though the last third especially has many confusing text problems—mostly missing words or incorrect word choices. Also, note that in Kara’s Story 9, the displayed text shows Caitlin.

“So emotional every time I say goodbye…” I’m still playing and working through all the characters’ final stories. I didn’t expect to feel this emotional each time I part with them. So far, I’ve said goodbye to Mina, Saya, Natalie, and Kara (just recently). Every farewell hits me hard. Thank you for making this game—I love it, and I’ve grown deeply attached to these characters.
