Spamming vs. Distance

After testing with a second controller, spamming punches doesn’t make knockouts happen faster compared to slower button presses or holding the button. However, distance matters. When you’re extremely close, your punches are more likely to miss (hitting around the head or brushing the ears). Keeping your attacks at roughly arm’s length improves your chances of connecting. Spamming is usually worse unless you have no alternative—and if you’re stuck right next to someone, a headbutt may work better.

Heavy Punch / Jump Kick Strategy

Heavy punches and jump kicks generally work better than spamming. Try to avoid dropping the run button unless you need stamina for team matches. For heavy punches, position yourself so you’re walking toward your target and facing them before you commit—landing one while turning around is much harder. If turning isn’t possible because someone is too close, switch to a jump kick. You can aim it regardless of your facing direction—quickly point in their direction (even backward from where you’re currently facing) and launch the jump kick.

Use Kicks Regularly

Many players overlook kicks because they’re easy to miss. If you knock someone out near an edge and don’t have time to pick them up and throw them before they wake, kicking is often safer. Even though the animals have short, stocky legs that can make it hard to track visually, a non-jump kick can still send them off into the danger zone.
