Walkthrough (Starting Setup Notes)

Welcome to DOOM II: Hell on Earth! Before you begin, a few important notes:

• If you’re used to the guide style from the first DOOM, this walkthrough is played on Ultra-Violence difficulty.



• The goal is to collect all available secrets, including the secret maps located midway through the game.
• Because the run is on UV, some enemies or items you see here may not match exactly on lower difficulty settings.
• When directions like north, west, south, and east are used, they correspond to the Automap. You can open the Automap at any time during play by pressing the Triangle button.

From the start, turn left from your starting position. You’ll spot a short corridor leading to an outdoor balcony—there you can grab a Chainsaw. Then return to where you started and drop down to the floor below. Use either your Pistol or the Chainsaw to take out a couple of Zombiemen, and collect the Clips they leave behind for extra bullets, along with other loot in the room.

Once that area is cleared, continue through the hallway and around the bend to the right. More Zombiemen, plus an Imp, are waiting here—deal with them as well.

There’s a door on your left that leads to the northern room. Inside, you’ll find two Imps and a few additional Zombiemen on raised platforms. Use your pistol to eliminate them. On two of those platforms, there are switches:

• Press the switch on the right (the one closest to the entrance door). This reveals a previously hidden compartment in the north-east corner containing two Stimpacks and an Armor vest [SECRET 1/5].



• The other switch lowers the pillars, letting you collect the Clips dropped by the Zombiemen after you clear them all.

Tip: If you activate the other switch first, you may not be able to see it from where you are—but you can still trigger it by standing in the correct spot and pressing the Cross button.

After completing the switches, head back to the previous hallway. Enter the eastern room to pick up a number of Health Bonuses, then retreat slightly and move down the passage toward the south. Clear out any remaining Zombiemen or Imps (pistol or Chainsaw works), until you reach a room with brown flooring.

In that room, on the left side, there’s a wall cage with an Imp behind it. Kill it quickly so it won’t bother you by throwing fireballs while you’re there. Then go to the opposite end of the room and press the wall switch to lower a lift. Be ready to eliminate an Imp on the lift before stepping onto it, then ride it up. If you inspect the back wall after reaching the top, you’ll find a secret area [SECRET 2/5].
