The premise follows a naive country girl who decides to leave her stuck hometown and travel to the big city in search of a better life. Along the way, she meets a stranger who knows someone who can set her up with a job and a cheap place to stay. Eager to get started, she accepts the offer despite a kind cab driver’s advice.

Soon after arriving, she meets the owner of a shady motel. Before long, he gets her drunk and takes advantage of her, then boasts to a friend about finding a new “easy target” who could make him rich.
