Carnivores Introduction
Carnivores Carnivores is a dinosaur-era action hunting game for Android. Pick a hunter or observer role, use stealth and weapons to take down dinosaurs, and train in Survival Mode for high scores.
Carnivores
Carnivores is an action hunting game set in the age of dinosaurs. You can play as a dinosaur hunter or switch roles to a dinosaur observer. Depending on your choice, you’ll carry different tools—such as weapons for taking down dinosaurs or cameras for capturing them in their prehistoric world.
Track and photograph the impressive creatures of the past, then move carefully: hide your scent, disguise yourself, and use precise shots to bring down your targets. Once you succeed, turn your kills into brag-worthy trophies you can show off to other players.
Dinosaur Encyclopedia
The game includes a dinosaur encyclopedia with key information and hunting methods for each species. Learn how each dinosaur behaves and what it takes to hunt it more effectively.
Survival Mode
You can also play Survival mode, where you begin in a world packed with dinosaurs and must push your limits to earn the highest score possible.
Gameplay

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is an updated mobile port of the original Carnivores released in 1998. It keeps a similar structure to the early games in the series, with hunting locations, dinosaur targets, and a variety of equipment.
Hunt Setup

- Choose from multiple hunting locations.
- Select different dinosaur targets.
- Pick from a range of weapons.
- Adjust the time of day.
- Bring along various accessories to help during your mission.
- Maps include a mix of dinosaurs and other creatures. You can kill the extra animals (except the Brachiosaurus), but they don’t award you points.

How Dinosaurs React
- Start by hunting herbivorous dinosaurs, which run away as soon as they spot you.
- Predators like Allosaurus and Velociraptor react aggressively right after detecting you, though they can be brought down fairly easily.
- Tyrannosaurus rex is tougher—make a direct eye shot before it can be killed.
Mobile-Port Modes
- Survival mode: Waves of dinosaurs swarm you, making it ideal for improving your shooting accuracy under pressure.
- Hunt mode: Lets you select specific dinosaurs to hunt.
Species, Senses, and Detection
In total, the game features 15 species. Each one has its own detection strengths—sight, smell, and hearing—which determine how quickly the hunter will notice you.
Weapons and Ammo
Your arsenal includes multiple firearms and a crossbow:
- 2 pistols
- 2 shotguns
- 2 rifles
- Crossbow

Weapon examples listed for the game include: Pistol, Revolver, Shotgun, DB Shotgun, X-Bow, Rifle, and Sniper Rifle. You can also choose to use non-lethal ammunition.
Useful Tools
- A radar helps you track threats.
- A dinosaur call can assist with luring and capturing animals.
Note on PSP/PS3 Versions
In the PlayStation Portable / PlayStation 3 version, you can only select
Features
A Prehistoric World Full of Big Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs in Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter are presented with detailed study-style information, including measurements and traits such as height, weight, speed, biological characteristics, and body structure. Each dinosaur has its own strengths and weaknesses, and you’ll need to identify vulnerable points to take them down more easily.
The game also gives you a large set of areas where dinosaurs live. That means you may need to explore to find creatures. Different regions come with different conditions and challenges that you must overcome to complete your mission. Locations include wide savannas, dry deserts, rainforests, and many wild forests.
Harsh Geographical Conditions
You’re not only fighting dinosaurs—you’re dealing with a dangerous planet full of hazards. Expect risky terrain and threats such as traps and abyss-like dangers, along with other hostile objects in the environment. If you can handle these challenges, the game rewards you with enough resources to keep going and tackle the next difficult tasks.
Skill and Character Upgrades
A key part of Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is the player progression system. Every time you defeat a dinosaur, you earn money and experience points, which build up to unlock new skill levels. Upgrades can include abilities like running faster, detecting prey from farther away, and anticipating how dinosaur groups will move next.
Weapons
Rifle

The rifle is the game’s go-to all-purpose weapon, making it a strong choice for beginners. When using it, avoid relying on eye shots unless you’ve practiced a lot. Instead, aim for the lungs—shots there tend to be easier to land.
When you get that “what just hit me?” kind of moment, be ready with follow-up shots. By the time you reload, your target should be dead or badly wounded. Use the hold your breath option mainly for steady follow-up shots or for shots taken right after sprinting; otherwise, it’s often better to pause and let your aim settle.
X-Bow
The X-Bow demands the most skill of the weapons in Carnivores. Take your time and make every shot count, because you likely won’t get an opportunity to fire again right away. Players who prefer a more forceful hunting style will appreciate its high effectiveness, but it rewards patience and accuracy.
