A New Dawn Introduction
A New Dawn Meet Dawn as you leave the desert and travel aboard a cruise to Unova. Enjoy casual story adventures, Pokémon-style battles, contests, and romantic interactions with your new companion.
A New Dawn
A New Dawn is a story-focused casual game made for Pokémon fans. You play as an MC who meets the adorable Dawn as you leave the Gobi Desert. The two of you set off together, running into all kinds of moments, surprises, and challenges along the way.
To win Dawn over, you’ll use different Pokémon abilities to defeat enemies, and you can also join Pokémon tournaments. As the story continues, your relationship with Dawn grows deeper—there are moments like kissing and more intimate interactions, along with unlockable special animations.
Story

While you’re leaving Sinnoh for no particular reason, you bump into a sweet girl heading to the same destination. Since there’s nothing else to do, you end up sharing the cruise—and along the way, you might learn something about each other.
A New Dawn is a beginner-friendly, romance-leaning visual novel for people who are especially into Dawn.
- Explore adventures around the cruise ship as you travel toward Unova
- Join in intense battles with your Scyther—even though it has no idea it isn’t a grass-type
- Train for the Delocore Cruises Pokémon Contest with a chance to win up to $50 (U.S.)
- Along the way, you may even get the chance to smooch your cute bluenette companion
Note on production: Built with a near-zero budget, so some assets were reused. Dawn sprites are credited to Hainchu, the soundtrack comes from Katawa Shoujo, and the backgrounds are pulled from various Google image searches. The overall vibe is for fans of Dawn who don’t mind the limitations.
Features
- Cruise ship setting: A simple trip becomes a calm yet exciting romantic getaway. You start by chance—sharing the same destination—and quickly build a connection with the girl headed toward Unova. Every deck and corridor turns into a space for quiet conversations, spontaneous exploring, and more time to grow closer.
- Balanced tone: The relaxed cruise atmosphere mixes light, playful moments with rising tension, so each day at sea feels like it could lead to something special.
- Light Pokémon action: You fight alongside Scyther in battles that are intense but often humorous. You also practice together for the Delocore Cruises Pokémon Contest, where you can earn up to $50 U.S. and score bragging rights.
- Romance at the center: Spending time as two travelers with plenty of room to breathe, you learn from each other and share affectionate, sincere moments. The chance to kiss your bluenette companion adds a gentle adult touch that Dawn fans may enjoy.
- Meaningful choices: What you pick affects how strongly you connect—turning a random meeting into a memorable, warm, passion-filled romance.

Walkthrough
Day 1
No choices. You spend the day on the deck with Dawn.

Day 2
When you meet Dawn on the deck, you’ll have three options:
-
A. “How about we walk the decks?” [+2 dawn_affection]
Dawn quizzes you on simple Pokémon trivia. If you get the questions wrong, it doesn’t really change the scene—though the second question is the one that actually affects your pokeskill stat.- Rocky Boy vs Fire Bun: Choose “Rocky Boy” (left) to pick Larvitar.
- Who’s that Pokémon: Choose Glameow. [+1 pokeskill]
-
B. “The Mess hall’s serving breakfast.” [+1 dawn_affection]
You can offer to pay for Dawn’s food.- Yes: Dawn is grateful. [+2 dawn_affection]
- No: Nothing happens.
Then you choose between the routes that come before (A) and (C). -
C. “We could just hang out here again.” [+1 dawn_affection]
Dawn will spend the rest of the visual novel teasing you for being lazy. Nothing else significant happens. Since walking the decks gives more affection than this option, there’s usually no reason to pick it.
Breakfast system (most days): On most days, you can start by eating breakfast. On every day except Day 4, you and Dawn take turns paying. (On Day 4, she pays for you automatically.) The pattern is:
- You pay for Dawn first, then she insists on paying for you.
- This alternation repeats for three breakfasts total (or four if you count Day 4, which doesn’t belong to the cycle).
- Each time you pay for Dawn’s breakfast, your dawn_affection increases—so when breakfast is available, it’s usually best to start there.
- If you’re stingy, breakfast still gives a small dawn_affection boost even if you don’t pay for Dawn, and the rest of the scene plays out the same aside from Dawn’s initial reaction.

Optimal plan for today: Breakfast first, pay for Dawn, then continue from the best follow-up option.
