3) Check your result

  • After assigning digits to all letters, replace the letters with their digits and verify that the arithmetic works out.
  • The full equation must be correct once the substitutions are made.

Pre-check requirements:

  • The total number of distinct letters must be 10 or fewer.
  • The number of digits in the answer should match what the puzzle expects for the operand lengths.

Useful Tips

Understand the rules clearly

When the instructions say “Each letter is a unique number”, it means:

  • Every letter represents a digit.
  • Whenever the same letter appears, it must use the same digit again.

For example, if M, Y, U, and F repeat in the puzzle, they must always map to the same digits each time.

When it says “Can you make it all add up?”, you should replace each letter with its assigned digit so the equation becomes a valid addition. The first two numbers must add up to the third number, forming a true math statement.

For instance, AAA + BBB = CCC has a valid example solution: 111 + 222 = 333.

Important note about the example: That particular structure often allows multiple solutions, meaning it wouldn’t be a true “single-solution” summary puzzle.
