Cookie Clickers is a fun idle clicker game where you simply tap the screen to bake mouthwatering cookies. Keep producing, and you’ll be able to buy power-ups that speed everything up—until your cookie output grows so large it reaches the entire world, and even beyond into outer space.

The game includes 600+ upgrades, letting you unlock additional cookie-makers and new power-ups. That means you can produce even more cookies at the same time. It also supports offline progress, so cookies keep being made while you’re away, making the experience more relaxed.

How the Gameplay Works

At the start, you’ll click a large cookie to earn 1 cookie per tap. Use your growing cookie stash to purchase new production items, such as cursors, grandmas, farms, mines, factories, banks, temples, and 14 more that generate cookies automatically.

Pricing and production scaling:

• Prices rise exponentially.
• For the same type of building, each new purchase costs 15% more than the last one.
• You can also buy upgrades that increase how much cookies your buildings produce.

Golden cookies: From time to time, golden cookies appear in random spots on the screen. They last only a few seconds and then vanish—so tap them quickly. Clicking golden cookies can trigger temporary boosts, like a short-term increase to your overall cookie production rate.

Ascending (prestige system): After you earn enough cookies, you can ascend. Ascending resets your progress, but rewards you with heavenly chips and prestige levels.

• Prestige levels permanently increase future production by +1% per level.
• Heavenly chips can be spent on many prestige upgrades.
• The cookie requirement for the next prestige level increases according to the cube of the level, so it becomes harder the more you collect.

Other key mechanics:

• Wrinklers: creepy creatures that reduce cookie production. Click them to pop them, reclaiming the cookies they swallowed—with interest.
• Krumblor the Cookie Dragon: a special character that adds variety to the cookie-making journey.
• Sugar lumps: they take 24 hours to combine. Use them to level up buildings, raise their production rates, and unlock minigames.

Achievements and Events

You can earn achievements by completing different goals, such as producing a certain number of total cookies, owning a specific number of buildings of a type, or clicking a required number of golden cookies.

• After enough achievements are completed, you unlock new milk colors that appear below the cookie.
• Shadow achievements are achievements considered too unfair or difficult; they do not unlock additional milk.
• “Kitten” upgrades show up whenever a new milk is unlocked, granting extra production based on your total achievements.

During seasonal holidays, the game runs seasonal events, bringing extra upgrades and cookies to unlock.

Growth and Milestones

Cookie Clickers is built around geometric and exponential growth: you start with individual cookies, quickly move into billions, and can eventually reach trevigintillions (1072) of cookies or even more. There’s no definitive end, but there are 637 achievements, so many players set their own milestone targets.

The game also has speedrunning communities, including tournaments like RTA in Japan Winter 2022 that hosted Cookie Clicker events.
