Short Life is a one-touch platformer. Here, you need to help your character overcome obstacles to reach the finish line. Along the way, you'll not only have to avoid obstacles but also collect stars to earn points. There are various traps: arrows, bombs, cannons... you'll always find yourself being blown away by some unexpected item. Although the game uses a ragdoll physics engine, your character's movements will be affected when they are injured; for example, injured legs will make movement difficult.
Playing
First, choose your control layout. Select a joystick or buttons from the settings or tips and set the option that feels most stable.
Next, learn the basic controls. Move left or right, tap the screen to jump, crouch to lower your body, and hold the screen to pause or stabilize near danger zones.
Then, carefully read the levels before moving quickly. Watch out for spikes on the floor and ceiling, landmines on the ground, spinning saws, arrow traps, and the sounds of bombs.
After that, timing each action is crucial. Wait for a safe moment, dodge arrows, jump before stepping on mines, and hold down the left mouse button when near swinging blades to let them pass before continuing.
Finally, collect stars along the safe route to reach the exit. Use the stars you collect to unlock heroes. If you want to create and test your own levels, you can open the level editor from the menu.

Features
Young people contemplate the brevity of life.
Have you ever thought about how many accidents, mishaps, or traps life holds? If you haven't fully imagined the kinds of risks in life, try the game *Short Life*.
The game's title, *Short Life*, foreshadows a less-than-ideal future for the character. Life is full of variables, and life is sometimes unbelievably short. Therefore, the more you know about risks, accidents, and incidents, the better you can avoid these dangers and ensure your safety for as long as possible. This is the main goal of every *Short Life* player.
Therefore, you play the role of an ordinary person, living a simple life like everyone else. However, unlike others, you attract trouble like a magnet. Any accident, even the rarest one in a thousand, could happen to you at any moment.
Your short life is a constant escape, a struggle to escape various predicaments. However, you're not entirely unlucky. By controlling your character and overcoming these life's risks and unexpected events, you'll develop stronger reflexes and prepare for the most unforeseen situations.
Avoid all risks and accidents along the way and safely reach your destination.
Short Life is divided into multiple levels. Each level contains a different set of obstacles, traps, and challenges, representing various accidents and events that can occur in life. These challenges are randomly arranged, and you have no idea what your character's fate will be.
A car might suddenly dart out in front of you, and if you don't slow down in time, you'll be hit. While you're walking down the street, a portable chainsaw might suddenly appear out of nowhere, threatening to slice you in half. While you're walking, a rope that looks like an electric wire might suddenly fall from the sky, electrocuting you or even burning you to a crisp… Thousands of such accidents lurk on every street. Helping the protagonist overcome numerous difficulties and survive is a truly daunting task.
The difficulty of life's brevity lies in its unpredictability. You never know what challenges await you, or what unexpected events might strike. The initial obstacles are relatively easy to handle; they appear orderly, not dense, and the pace is slow, allowing you to maintain complete control.
But starting from level 10, things change. Traps and accidents appear more frequently and densely, and in more unexpected ways. You will experience 60 levels containing hundreds of different traps. From spikes, chainsaws, cranes, craters, explosives, vehicles on the road, high steps to steep roads… each will harm you in a different way. A car accident will leave you sprawled on the road, bleeding profusely. Spikes will render your injured leg immobile. A chainsaw will mercilessly slice you in half. Landmines will blow you to pieces. In short, this game contains violent elements; please consider this before choosing to play.
The later it gets, the lower your chances of surviving. Remember, the only objective in *Short Life* isn't sightseeing or puzzle-solving, but focusing on avoiding all obstacles and completing levels as unscathed as possible.
Is *Short Life* easy to control?
Based on this simple and straightforward requirement, most operations involve navigating and selecting motion simulator buttons, pressing them at the right time to avoid danger. Overall, the in-game action buttons are precise, responsive, and quick. Technically speaking, you don't need to worry about anything.
The only challenge lies in observing and choosing the right moment to act. For example, when you see a saw blade in front of you, you need to immediately jump high and leap forward to avoid being cut directly. When you encounter a crane hanging in front of you, you must crouch to get over it.
Victory or defeat, whether you can complete the level, depends entirely on your ability to observe quickly and react appropriately. This gives you the opportunity to overcome many obstacles in later levels.
Pay close attention to the on-screen cues provided in the game. These cues will help you understand the types of risks you will face, allowing you to prepare better.
