Descenders Introduction
Descenders Descenders is an extreme cycling game with procedurally generated worlds, full bike control for stunts, and modes to race, build rep, customize riders, and climb the leaderboard with friends.
Descenders
Descenders is a high-octane cycling game made for extreme sports fans. Each run takes place on randomly generated terrain, where you must guide your rider with precision—pulling off smooth, risky bicycle tricks while pushing through dangerous courses. Make it to the top and earn the title of a legendary rider.
The game includes multiple modes and maps. Pick a faction, invite friends to form a squad, show off your skills to secure wins, and battle other players on the leaderboard. You can also personalize your bikes with free changes to paint jobs and rims, letting you adapt to different terrain types and build a ride that feels uniquely yours.
Key Features
Procedurally-Generated Worlds
Race through worlds that are built on the fly. Expect deserts, forests, and mountain routes—and the ground layout changes every time you play. As you explore, you’ll encounter ramps, steep slopes, hill bombs, and jumps.
Freestyle Bike Controls
You’re in full control of your bike. Perform stunts and combo moves using slick whips and scrubs. You can also switch your camera view to better read the terrain before you commit to a jump or trick.
High Replay Value
Because tracks and events are generated randomly, you’ll rarely do the same run twice. The game also uses procedural placement for obstacles such as rocks, trees, and bushes, keeping each descent fresh.
Risk-Reward Gameplay
The game’s challenge is balanced around a risk-reward system. Push your limits and you’ll be rewarded for it—the more daring your moves, the greater the benefits you can earn.
Build & Customize Your Reputation
Your rep determines what crew you can join. Increase your standing by completing objectives and winning races. There’s also a customization system that lets you modify your rider’s appearance as you progress.
What to Expect
Real Consequences for Mistakes
In Descenders, mistakes matter. Unlike many racers where a crash is just a minor setback, a wrong judgment here can cause a serious, game-changing wipeout. Each descent becomes a test of both skill and composure—demanding that you stay cautious while still taking bold risks. The excitement comes from knowing that one misstep can turn into a spectacular fall.
Team Play and Competition
The game blends team-based collaboration with competition. Join forces with other players to tackle challenges and complete shared goals. Coordinating as a group lets you plan strategies and trade techniques, making tougher obstacles more manageable. Whether you’re racing the clock or chasing the highest score, teamwork can help you secure victory and improve the overall experience.
Customize Your Rider and Bike
Personalization is a big part of the experience. As you advance, you can change your rider’s look and gear, from outfits to bikes. The choices aren’t only cosmetic—picking the right equipment can influence how well you perform on certain terrain. Switching bikes and accessories may provide advantages depending on the route, letting you tailor your setup to your preferred riding style.

Challenges and Events
Stay busy with a variety of challenges and events. Complete specific objectives, race against other players, or take on community-made challenges. These events drive competition and give you more chances to demonstrate your skills. Success can earn rewards and recognition, helping you rise through the ranks and move closer to becoming a legendary rider.
Useful Strategies
Bunny Hop
- To do the basic jump: hold down your right stick, then push it up when you’re ready to jump.
- The higher you push the stick up on the ramp, the higher you’ll go.
Moon Jump

- This long jump is essential to learn.
- It’s useful in many situations, including BikeOut’s second obstacle and various career jumps.
- Perform it similarly to a bunny hop, but push up the right stick at the start of the ramp.
- You can learn it through a challenge in the No More Robots Pro Tour.
Light Jump
- A short jump technique.
- Instead of holding your stick down, push it down and then immediately push it up.

Counter-Pumping
- Hold the right stick up right as you’re about to land.
- This softens impact significantly, helping you land jumps you otherwise might not survive.
- It’s an important technique and is somewhat hidden—find it under Extras → Advanced Tips.

Controlled Braking
- If you need to slow down precisely, don’t hold the brake.
- Tap the brake repeatedly for better control over your speed.

Full Braking
- The most efficient way to lose speed is to slide while braking.
Safe Respawning
- In career mode, if you’re off-road and can’t get back on track—or you’re blocked—you can use the respawn button.
- (See the platform-appropriate respawn instructions for your device.)
