Asphalt 5
Asphalt 5 is a popular racing game packed with a wide selection of distinctive tracks and vehicles. Take on other racers in modes like Career, Quick Race, and Multiplayer. Improve your driving, chase victory, and rack up rewards that help you unlock even stronger high-performance cars.
The game stands out for its carefully tuned handling, with each vehicle feeling different to drive. You can also choose from several control styles to make racing more comfortable and smooth. Ready to hit the road? Jump in and feel the rush of high-speed competition.
Gameplay
Asphalt 5 features 12 tracks inspired by real-world cities. There’s a quick play option, but you can also dive into Career mode right away—this is the path where events unlock progressively as you progress.
Each location includes 4 race events. Completing them unlocks new events in fresh locations. Event types include:
- Race – Finish in the top 3
- Vs – Race against a single opponent
- Cop Chase – Play as a cop and eliminate a set number of opponents by crashing into them
- Drift – Earn points for drifting
- Time Attack – Finish under a set time
- Escape – Complete 3 laps without being arrested 5 times
- Last Man Standing – An elimination-style race
- Cash Attack – Finish with a required amount of money

There’s plenty of variety, and most modes are enjoyable. In particular, Cop Chase can feel much tougher than the other event types—though the rest usually stay manageable if you’re driving a solid vehicle.

Useful Tips
If you’re stuck on a stage, you can buy a better car or bike using the best performance vehicle you’ve unlocked. Open Garage from the Career menu to purchase it.
You can also upgrade the vehicle you own by going to Tuning. On the right side of the tuning screen, you’ll find upgrades for engine, handling, and boost. Upgrading as much as possible can noticeably improve performance and help you finish tougher races.
Upgrade strategy: upgrades matter because opponents typically drive vehicles around your level. If you want to play with your earliest available car for as long as possible, you may need a higher-performance vehicle for certain achievements. In general, a faster vehicle means a faster win—so choose based on what fits your goals.
Control settings
If controlling your vehicle feels difficult, check the control options. In the main menu, open Help and Options. If you pause during a race, choose Options to adjust how you drive:
- Screen tap
- Steering wheel
- Accelerometer (Tilt)
You can also fine-tune steering wheel and accelerometer sensitivity. Some players prefer Screen Tap, but it’s best to try every method to find what suits you.
Boost and shortcuts
- Use boost only when you actually need it
- Collect boost power-ups—they give a major speed boost for a short time
- You can take shortcuts to close the gap, but remember: NPC opponents won’t use shortcuts, so this can be a real advantage
Unlockable “Girls” power-ups
As you progress, you’ll unlock Girls, who act like power-ups. One recommendation is Kate (the first girl you unlock), since she provides an income boost of 15% for each race you finish. Use her consistently until you unlock Liz (at the next specified level).
